I mean, if your a police officer, your job is to protect and serve, but there's a invasion going on. Are you going to just run away or are you going to at least try to stand your ground.

i also think this will happen. but not just in usa but europe 2. i live in norway and we got borders to russioa in the north and they will most likely atack from there. that is why there are more troops stationed there than anywere else in norway.
The Russian military as it exists today could never pull off something like this. It's weak, equipment is old and malfunctioning, corruption rampant, quite a few of the soldiers only joined because the pay is better than any other job they could get, that and the regular food. US on the other hand has a professional all volunteer force.

Russia has no way of invading the US. They have no force projection nor have the logistical ability to maintain an invasion.

I see how the russians snuck in, but how did they resupply with the US navy alerted to the attack, once the navy knew what was up they could close off both coasts in a few days.
They could have resupplied by the air, using the same way they got it, without naval support. Or just boldly set in transports with cver from undres of fighter jets.
@totalwar57, The planes would be shot down by carrier based fighters, the russian fighter cover couldnt follow the cargo planes the whole way. And also, cargo planes would be a very slow way to move the massive amounts of equipment needed for such a large conventional war.

Ah, I LOVE the US army Rangers levels of the game. It's a strange feeling seeing your home country being attacked and overwhelmed. But seeing the capitol in ruins, man, I felt really patriotic when fighting back the enemies.

They all pass their data through the Attack Characterization System (ACS), which is the weak spot. The Russians figured out how to hack the ACS, allowing them to mask the approach of real aircraft, and create "phantom dots" where there are none.
@Halo4Lyf Not really. The Russians used the ACS to show that they had nothing comming. NORAD did decetd them, but the stations couldnt see them. So NORAD had no way of confirming the visuals.

@jimcoolfilms So sir, YOU get YOUR facts straight. Don't base everything you know on the TV. The US is the STRONGEST military power in the world and it be that way for a while. No one will be able to invade Russia Because of MAD and they are basically impossible to invade as proven in the past. They are not weak, they're far from it, but they are a lot weaker than you think they are.

You know what I just thought about? In the games universe this war will TRULY determine which nation is truly stronger? Russian's are extremely pissed in what they believe is an attack on their homeland (Airport remember?) so they invade and will piss off a lot of Americans. This isn't a battle of military power. This is a battle of which country's hatred is stronger of the other.

I love this game. Unfortuanetly I believe that this is going to actually take place in our lifetime. We will have the men and women of the armed forces to defend us. But who else? @rydaddyops910 Agreed, even about myself to some degree, but if the invasion comes, despite not being in the military, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure I'm not one of the ones running and hiding (unless it's hiding behind cover after arming myself with some kind of effective firearm, preferably a noobtube).

I know people who have dropped out, I know people who are in jail and I know them because they are the majority of the people I grew up with. And don't think that I grew up in some slum. But every generation of Americans has found the strength to defeat our enemies, and I don't think this generation will be any different.
I wouldn't worry about the average American military age male. I'd worry about whether or not we have a patriot in the White House.

No trial was held because The Russians were exchanged for United States spies being held captive in Russia. All this was public. And didn't Japan shake our hand and then spit in our face in what resulted as Pearl Harbor and ultimately World War II? Oh, but that's right I forgot. @BattlefieldMaster78 Actually the best defences in the world to protect their home is Isreal, although they use the same technology as the US, its the way they use it and mark thier targets. Plus there are lyk 15 countries in the World that can inflict damage to USA's homegroundv easily. USA isn't perfect in defence infact you do know that every country in the world buy their weapons from cooperation's who create both SHIELD and SWORD weapons and sell it too different countries.

@totalwar57, The planes would be shot down by carrier based fighters, the russian fighter cover couldnt follow the cargo planes the whole way. And also, cargo planes would be a very slow way to move the massive amounts of equipment needed for such a large conventional war.

Which means what they're doing is really just political in nature. They have neither the means, nor the intention, of conquering the United States.

Neither side is ready for a conventional WWIII. We don't have the trained men in sufficient numbers, nor do we have the amounts of equipment needed.

@Halo4Lyf Actiually, the numbers are good. Both countries have an army of about A million soldiers.
The only set back russia has is the old Soviet military infrastructure, which russia is replacing, slowly, but at a steady pace.
But, they would be able to pull off a sucessful invasion if they can get though a "Blind Spot" in the American defences, which, quite frankly, is near to impossible.

They only thing th russians need is a strong offensive and capture the coast. Once that have the east and west coast the US would starve economically. No Oil comming in, no ships, no merchandice. etc.

Ah, I LOVE the US army Rangers levels of the game. It's a strange feeling seeing your home country being attacked and overwhelmed. But seeing the capitol in ruins, man, I felt really patriotic when fighting back the enemies.

@mikeshin1023 The radar exists. There are many different systems, some of them mounted on the ground and some mounted in satellites in space. They all pass their data through the Attack Characterization System (ACS), which is the weak spot. The Russians figured out how to hack the ACS, allowing them to mask the approach of real aircraft, and create "phantom dots" where there are none.

@Halo4Lyf Not really. The Russians used the ACS to show that they had nothing comming. NORAD did decetd them, but the stations couldnt see them. So NORAD had no way of confirming the visuals.
But here is what i dont get. If NORAD see;s incomming planes, why even question it? NORAD is almost never wrong. Even if its a false alarm, it would make a good drill for the country...
