This video forgot to mention hundreds of lives of both innocent people and Indonesian undercover military were captured, tortured and killed by Dutch armies. They did not follow the Geneva convention where prisoner of war must be respected for their human right. The massacare of native Papua people and Indonesian army by the Dutch were classified and forgotten. The Dutch government denied the allegation and claimed that the people were caught in cross shooting during the battle.

The video doesn't mention that the Papoa didn't want to be a part of the Republic Indonesia and the Indonesian nationalist have exterminated almost all Papoa's. I also see a lot of military, but there were almost no big fightings during the Dutch New Guinea conflict. The Indonesian army was no treath, The Sovjet army was a bigger treath, because of that the Dutch didn't escalate the situation.

Commemorating, the death of Lieutenant Admiral Yos Sudarso and his crews in Pertempuran Laut Aru (Battle of Arafura Sea).

Yos Sudarso, along with his crews were killed, when his ship, the KRI Macan Tutul was shot. The ship was made as a target deliberately as a part of saving two other ships in the vicinity, KRI Macan Kumbang and KRI Harimau.

His last order, "Kobarkan semangat pertempuran!"

@teikucay:The Macan Tutul was NOT a deliberately target as you wrote. Besides the Macan Tutul , there were the Macan Kumbang, Kri Hari Mau and the Kri Singa. The last one failed to reach Dutch seaborders because of machine breakdown. Dutch counterparts were Hr.Ms.Evertsen, Hr.Ms Kortenaer and Hr.Ms Utrecht and a Neptune bomberplane. Macan Tutul got a direct hit from Hr.Ms.Evertsen, while Hr.MsKortenaer and Hr..Ms Utrecht fired on the Kumbang and the Hari Mau.

Yes, RI Macan Tutul had machine breakdown that's why RI Macan Tutul diverted attention of Ducth warships to salvage two other ships in the vicinity, KRI Macan Kumbang and KRI Harimau.

Dutch Navy Intelligence had broken the Secret Military Code of Indonesia for months at that time. So they new exactly what all plans were. They new also that the 4 MTB's were directed to the Etna Bay. Hr.Ms Utrecht at that time was off the coast of the Isle of Batanta on 12 th /13th January 1962, and suddenly disappeared towards the Aru Sea.I myself was present as a Marine on Batanta Camp.
