For instance, I can play guitar but if I wanna learn songs like Joe Satriani, it's pretty hard.

@Matheus222 It takes quite a bit of practice to get this song down. It hard to explain. It`s`easier to learn once you`ve developed thumb independence. You need pretty good technique to get the flow going too. The speed of his thumbs at some point take much practice to get too. Lets just say that it requires a lot of patience lol, fingerstyle is more dynamic.

I see your point anyway. I have hard playing regular fingerstyle, (the basic) and this looks like a much advancer level.. So I just thought how long it would take. Because it should be a different for a guy who can play guitar, but not fingerstyle and a guy who can't play anything and starts with fingerstyle..

@Matheus222 If you already play guitar then in a way it should be easier. The thing with fingerstyle songs like these, is they are actually different than normal classic fingerstyle. You already have some finger strength, though acoustic is much harder than electric. A few months into fingerstyle you should be able to attempt this song, i started October and I now can work on this song. It uses scales which uses more speed than strength necesarily. I played acoustic before electric. I did just not play fingerstyle while I played acoustic.

Okey so a few month, that was what I wondered. Because sometimes speed takes years, if you don't have the other things that you need to be able to play the speed. Like "Sweet child O'mine solo", really hard.

I know scales, but I play them with a pick..
