@netcrawler He might have paid nothing, but how long would he have to wait. Not so much for immiediate care but for return reconstructive surgery. I just read some stuff about your healthcare system (I'm half Swede) and well, not so good.
@johnfloan - This was the first time I ever really used full throttle, so I don't have anything to compare it to, sorry. I will admit I bought the exhaust mostly for better sound. The bike is mechanically limited to 140-145mph or so anyway (6th gear redline), and will get there just fine completely stock. I chose Akrapovic because I got a really great deal on it, and most people I know went with Remus, so I wanted to be different.
@johnfloan - I got that from Wunderlich America, it is their Touring Windscreen, part number 8110121-123. Mine was the "medium" size. I'm 6'01" and should have probably gotten the "high" version. Though this one worked out very well indeed! I think they still sell it for the 2007-2010 R1200R, not sure about the 2011 and up version though. Hope that answers your question!
@jasonsitu - Long story short, NO. I'm still trying to get rid of $132,000 in medical bills... Because of course I'm responsible because I was on the bike, right... Even though he was found criminally liable in court, I still get all the bills. Makes no sense whatsoever. Good news is that I'm looking at getting another bike here VERY soon, and I'm working on getting everything transferred out of my name. So looks like it should all work out, just takes time, unfortunately.
Sorry to hear about your loss, I just bought my R1200R on 07/31/2010 hear in ABQ, traded a 2007 Speed Triple for her. Great bike. How was the Akropovic, sure sounded good.
@michaelefox8 - Congratulations on your purchase! I actually have my Sandia BMW shirt on right now haha. Good bunch down there in ABQ! The Akrapovic sounded great, I would definitely suggest the upgrade. I got a great deal on mine for only $659.99. When I'm able to get another R1200R I'll be buying the same exhaust. It is no louder than stock if you leave the DB killers installed. Remove the DB killers and it rumbles nicely! It is also noticeably lighter than stock.
Very nice bike! Sorry to hear that you have crashed it and got injured... There is nothing worse than stupid and careless drivers (and riders too). Luckily you were smart enough not to go faster hence staying alive. Get well soon and ride on!
@s1914 - Yes, Bike was totaled on the 15th of April, 2010. Minivan turned into an intersection I was riding through. Struck him head-on at about 40mph. Broken leg, arms both broken, shattered elbow... all from some asshole not paying attention. Since he had minimum insurance I'm stuck with $200k in bills too... Unless the court actually makes the driver responsible for his actions, we'll see.
I'll have another R1200R some day, it did everything, grocery store runs to 2,000 mile road trips. RIP
even the wind noise could not stop me from enjoying this well put video for engine sounds...nice!

@KutWrite - haha I got lucky. Too bad it was breezy and killed a lot of the sound. Something to work on in the future with my next bike.
