A beautifully painted canvas - signed, sealed and delivered.

  • Just a question... When the Japanese girl says her part, "Moshi moshi ____ desu ka, baby," what is she saying? I mean, what's that one word? My friends and I have been trying to figure it out, but none of us know. Please answer, someone?

  • @flufffyboots I'm pretty sure she is saying "moshi moshi, kara desu ka" Which means, hello, where are you from

  • Love Bob Fosse

  • Bloody kids think they invented everything.

  • danisnotonfire sent me here

  • @rosemaryironwood Thanks! I sure love cookies

  • Glee fucked the song up. Queen made it better <3

  • like if grounded for life brought you here

  • Like if you knew about this before Glee AND Grounded For Life.

  • Love this song, and all because of my literature teacher. Hahaha.

  • WHY MUST GLEE GO AROUND AND DESTROY EVERY SONG I LOVE

  • @aflioness1 I know how you feel

  • @aflioness1 they don't know any better.

  • gothabillygirl gets it. The latter versions of this song really screws up on what the song is really all about.

  • I wouldn't know this song if it weren't for Glee!

  • i fucking hate hipsters. in other news, i fucking love this song.

message if you want vid with beritone saxaphone & piano

    and possibly whole band

  • I'm here cause of both The Simpsons and Glee.

  • @AbsoluteGleek92 thats sad.

  • This song and chip are amazing! Anyone who trashes on this was raised with a Bratz doll in their hand and, weened on the likes of Katy Perry. This is highly stylized and is meant to convey a feeling, a story, and give you a bit of an idea as to what it must be like to work at a joint like this day in and day out. It takes someone who's a little bit sharper than their eye liner pencil to grasp the subtext of it all.

  • Oh, how I love Bob Fosse!

  • SUGARMOTTA

  • OOOOOOH you're so tall!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I heard this in high school in the early 1980s. I can only assume that our teachers were truly clueless.

  • I so agree with you, jwsnowden. I love this musical!!!!!!

  • Glee?!? How about here because of an old episode of the Simpsons?

  • I think Queens version is much better

  • I knew this song before Glee was on air.

  • @TheBrookerdoodle It was on Glee?

  • @TheBrookerdoodle Majority of people did...

  • @TheBrookerdoodle here, have a fucking cookie

  • @TheBrookerdoodle I bloody hope so, its not exactly a hidden gem.

  • @Razzed13 Seeing as how most of the teens my age got this from Glee.....

    K

  • @Razzed13 Seeing as how most of the teens my age got this from Glee.....

    K

  • sweet charity, cabaret, and chicago...all classy, all fabulous, all have a number similar to this that i LOVE!

  • i like the glee version

    sugar motta

  • Oh, Bob Fosse was... I'm speechless!!!!

  • "OOOOOO ur so tall!!" lol

  • this is like what chicago was trying to do

  • "I don't pop my cork for every guy I see",says the prostitute

    Now thats a DAAAAMMN lie!

  • @TheKLCgirl101 They are not prostitutus, they're dancing girls!! It's not the same!!!

  • @TheOlegkruchinin That's the point. The "dancing" thing is just a front for prostitution.

  • My woman said she would dance like this for me, thats how I got here now she is going to start practicing.

  • I came here because Sweet Charity is a classic!.....this song will be around forever!.....Glee can re-do songs but they will NEVER measure up to the originals!!

  • It shouldn't matter how you got here.. all that matters should be that you enjoy this song.

  • Glee brought me here! SUGAR

  • lol boring

  • I'm whipping my hair around whilst wailing this in my bathrobe right now, and decided I should probably listen to it... :)

    Fosse is a god.

  • I can't believe you guys came here for Glee, Fosse is legendary :/

  • Thumbs up if you came here for Fosse and not Glee.

  • For everyone bitching about the lack of emotion; that's the point. These girls aren't coy, young sex kittens. They're streetwise, jaded women. If it wasn't the 1960's they would have been hookers instead of dance hall girls. They're giving this guy the same old lines they give ever man who "walks in the joint".

Consider this before you type another "OMG LYKE DEY DON't EvEn sIng it SEXAY".

  • @gothabillygirl sweet baby jesus THANK YOU whoever you are.........good lord these people are bright.....lol. love this song!

  • @gothabillygirl I understood this watching it as a child with my father! xD Thank you.

  • @gothabillygirl true

  • This movie is rated G. For reasons that are above me apparently.

  • How come i can't find any sheet music 4 this???

  • big spender for glee

  • @anirak90 do you realize that almost anything you'll ever see on Broadway will not be original? Just because Patti LuPone wasn't the same as the 1943 Ethel Merman cast of Anything Goes doesn't mean it's not as good. They can change a show and make it fun and original. On top of which, look at this years tony noms... BOM was the only one that was original. Hell even most modern music today isn't original, there's nothing wrong with that

  • Just heard this song on Grounded for life like 10 mins ago.

Loved the song as soon as I heard it!

  • Grounded for Life

  • Oh come on, don't put down the Glee Project for this! I absolutely adore Fosse and Sweet Charity, but there's nothing wrong with doing cover versions as long as they get permission to do so.

That said, this is one of my favorite numbers. Usually performers are criticized for lacking emotion, but who knew the lack of emotion could be used to convey a point?

  • I like the stage show version of this better. it seems more spaced and suspenseful

  • @jwsnowden, could you upload the film of "Sweet Charity"? Many would like to see it.

  • GLEE has no business doing this soundtrack, along with any song out there. What happened to writing your ORIGINAL material?? People these days seem to have this misconception that everything belongs to them.

  • @anirak90 u do realize the origional artests give them permission to do that right? its not like they steal the songs

  • @anirak90 I don't care for Glee, but look - glee choirs always sing known songs. And glee clubs started in the 1800s if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, the "diss" of the show not having original material is ridiculous.

  • Comment removed

  • i didn't come here for Glee, i came to watch the original.

  • Ooooh, you're so tall!

  • I did a dance routine to this.

  • 78 people are NOT big spenders......

  • dude i HATE people who put down glee like they people who sing in glee have PHENOMENAL voices. just because they sing things in a different way doesnt mean they suck. if they had've sung the original song you probably would've said they were "greatness" so get over yourselves and get used to new versions of things. -.-

  • @CruellaDeVil210 even if their voices are autotuned so much as to not be recognisable.

  • Comment removed

  • @CruellaDeVil210 People know that those from Glee are good singers, we're just tired of remakes, and want to see true artists who write their own material.

  • ellis sung this well in glee project!

  • r u all mad this is greatness and ur talkin about glee which is shitness

  • im thinken about doing this for my music competition what yall think but in glee project version :)

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing Song!! I love it!! <3 :)

  • Paula Kelly!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Shame on you if you came here for Glee project... You al gleeks need to know more about Contemporary music...

  • why do they all look like men?...

  • @Daniefab they wear wigs and lots of make up :P

  • THE BIG SPENEEEEEEEEEER!

  • ooooh you are so tall :)

  • I love the dynamic contrast as well as the backround music.

  • honestly I find this to be really bad. 1 their not dancing their throwing their body around, 2 they have no emotion. I just dont think this is good show work. they could have done better

  • @MandiCandi100 I think that's the point. I think they're supposed to be like emotionless sex dolls just trying to woo a man for access to his wallet.

  • @bonezillion Yeah, I can understand that, but I guess in my mind the song should be sang with sultry voices and they should look sexy

  • @MandiCandi100 Not a lot of people know(I sure didn't, until 4 months ago) But it's suppose to be a representation of what goes on in a sales pitch/business deal.

  • @BB415 if you're trying to be funny, that's very funny.

if you're being serious, you're an idiot.

  • @thebearclawjones I'm being serious as a heart attack. think about it in terms of buying a car. They sit on the property waiting, you step one foot onto the property they all swarm you, feeding you compliments, trying to get you to buy a car. Repeating things, making sure you get the details of certain products and they eventually succeed in selling you something or not.

PS, I'm not an idiot. You just didn't think about it.

  • @BB415 Do you know really know anything at all about this?

The characters were originally written as prostitutes. Fields had that in mind when she wrote the lyric, Fosse had that clearly in mind when he choreographed it - if it's representative of anything, it's the transaction between a whore and a trick.

That may well have some similarity to buying a car, but only an idiot, who knows nothing of this musical, would phrase it that way - as that would be missing the point, to make the point.

  • @thebearclawjones Well, someone else told me that it was a representation of a business pitch. Gues sI shouldn't believe everything that is told to me. My bad.

  • @BB415 OK I get that I guess. I'm just saying I don't understand why people say its the best dance routine in a musical, when they don't even dance. People think it's the greatest thing ever, when really it's poorly put on. even sex dolls have emotion.

  • @MandiCandi100 The lack of emotion is the point.

  • @MandiCandi100 they lack emotion on purpose. They have been with a lot of "Big Spenders" before so all passion for the job has pretty much gone. Everyone who walks in the joint is just another person they need to make money from. I personally like the choice of being emotionless. Makes the scene all the more disturbing in a good way. You are entitled to your opinion and i can see where you're coming from, but that was my own opinion

  • @MandiCandi100 twat

  • @1961diaz1 how am I being a twat? I'm just stating my opinion. thats what the comment section is for. to state your opinion even if someone disagrees with you. sorry I offended you.

  • @MandiCandi100 Cat...rat ...bat ...fat ...splat ...shat...hat........Twat Just my opinion

  • love this!

  • That's super sultry and hot at the same time.

  • I love how she calls him over "sSssSsS'

  • This was great, I adore old movie dance routines they're so classy and look like they took a lot of time and effort but it also looks so flawless! Love it!!!

  • Nobody does li like FOSSE!

  • Who else cam her for Glee project?!?!?

  • @TheGumJunkie Well I get your point, but I actually *came*here* because of the Glee Project, I didn't really cam her... that sounds a little painful actually. :S

  • @TheGumJunkie No one [besides 115 people, apparently]. Because this is an actual song, not a cover.

  • @TheGumJunkie Ellis did SUCH a BETTER JOB! haha(:

  • @TheGumJunkie thumps up if u like better the ellis version

  • @TheGumJunkie Ohhh please...

  • @TheGumJunkie Who else came here because they like the song?

  • how the hell does she get her hand all the way there???

  • watched this on ovation lawlz loved it ^_^ Luv Shirley Mcclaine ^____^

  • Wow. I just finished watching this on TV. And I now know what that song/routine was that one of my choirs in high school did a few months ago. They had each guy in the choir sitting in a chair and the older girls were singing the song and walking around the chair and taking off their ties and trying to choke em with it xD This was weird... but cool.

  • The move that the sista did at 4:31 was phenomenal.

  • do you take credit card? xD

this is such a good piece!

  • Bob Fosse= the greatest!

  • i played that song with my band!

  • its how's about it palsy..not hows about " A" palsy....and nobodys mentioned, that excellent line...."I dont pop my cork, for just any guy" and trivia for you, bob fosse died in his wifes arms (Gwen Verdon...dancer in song "what ever lola wants",forget the movie title, with tab hunter) on a street in new york, she was going to divorce fosse, cause he was a pill popping, adulterer...

  • @littlesky9 The movie (and play) with the song "Whatever Lola Wants" is Damn Yankees.

  • paula kelly's back bend roll up gives me chills everytime!!!! She is so slick I love it. She's the black girl in the gold. 4:31
