I don't use a firepod for that. I have an Alesis multimix 16 Firewire :) It has 8 Mic inputs and 6 Line inputs so I use a presonus preamp and send the kick mic to that! In that way I have gain control for 9 channels.
Great cover, man. however those missing up beats on the bridge are essential.
