... and armed robbery our first encounter with a highway patrol just out of Alberquerque NM.. we were innocent, our driver took the car in Pittsburgh 2 days before. Cops let us go without question after they posed for photos.

I passed through Oklahoma in 1975. My very first trip to the US. We were hitch hiking and got dropped at a big truck stop on I40 outside Oklahoma city. While waiting for a ride got called up by a trucker offering hot breakfast in return for helping with his shifted load we so agreed only to find we had to move 10 tons of loose potatoes from the back of his truck to the front.. breakfast was good and the next ride I could write a book about. Involves a stolen car....
