  • Royer R121 and Neumann M149 ? WOWWW !

  • the distortion sucks.... lucklly i know that this amp can sound better

  • finally! a REAL demo of a REAL amp with out a bunch of shitty delay. would have liked to see a few different settings, but thank you so much for not using delay!

  • SRV stuff? Lets here some, Gibson - Clapton tones now!!!

  • killer tone

  • metropoulos ??? is he greek?:D

  • Very nice. Are the drums and bass live as well or a backing track?

  • what are your amp settings for this track? sounds great.

  • Do you also sell combo cabinets?

  • ive never seen a condiencer mic up like that to and amp....i bet it sounds great....

  • What settings did you used ? It sounds awsome!

  • Awesome!

  • and people really are talking about alnico speakers don't sound good with jmt-45 amps????? great sound. thick and smooth and clear at the same time. and in no way harsh or muddy.

  • I think I just came a bit...

  • Juicy tone and fantastic playing. I appreciate the fact that you didn't clutter the signal chain with FX.( How on earth can listeners guage a rig's tone when they're hearing it with pedals?) Thanks!

  • I hear you. I love how someone will do an amp demo, and you see in the description "Marshall Vintage Modern with Boss DS-1, Boss Delay, MXR 10 Band EQ, and a Tube Screamer." If you can really play, you don't need effects.

  • hehe =D

gotcha a bit of that tone now =D just had to tell :)

  • where can i get one of these theres only kits on their website

  • George you kick ass!

  • What a top sound ! A great playing too ! Very impressive.

  • Is this George? Man you are one rockin guitar player...I dont know why you are not on stage with Clapton or somebody.

  • cuz he would freeze when he see's Clapton on stage with him..lol oh I kid..but yes your right he is good I love his chops

  • What a Nice Sound!

What Recorder or Recording Software is it on this clip..?

  • The software is Nuendo and converters are Apogee AD-16X.

    Thanks!

  • It looks like he has this mic'd up with a condenser mic and a ribbon(?) mic. These will certainly pull out the treble and presence details. With an SM57 or similar dynamic mic, this would sound mellower and creamier. However, I think the tone here is fantastic. I always get phase cancellation with this kind of mic set up-must be a trick I'm missing.

  • I've had phase trouble in the past, as well. I've learned a few tricks for getting them in phase. Specifically: flip the phase on one mic and adjust until they cancel almost completely. Return the phase to normal and the mics will be in phase.

  • Sweet! Well there's your engineering chops on display. I can't believe that never occurred to me. I am definitely trying that!

  • nice playing and tone george. one question, what is phase and out of phase on mics? thanks.§'

  • When the sound from the amp reaches two microphones at slightly different times. i.e. one mic closer than the other.

The result is partial phase canceling between the signals, known as comb filtering.

    george

  • very cool sounds

what mics are you using here?

  • The one thing you can do in the box, is to zoom into both waveforms and align the transients, and just nudge one left or right until it 'pops' into place. Cheating from a purist standpoint, but you can stick mics where you want to get the best sound for each and phase align them later.

  • hey mr metroamp , what channel do you use on this vid ? and what about the same amp but with a greenback and a G12H30 ? or greenbacks... bass cone & lead cone mixed in the same cab ?

  • I do intend to do clips with Hertiage G12M greebacks. Just haven't had time yet.

  • i'd love to have this amp ...

a hint of VOX flavor , and a great dose of marshall taste , creamy overdrive and so on but with some added "treble bite"... what would be amazing would be to have a greenback AND a gold alnico !

  • Agreed!

The Golds do have a unique high end chime. And do lean towards a Vox'ish sound. I want to also try a Gold and a G12H. These mix well since they have the same sensitivity rating. A G12M would be slightly drowned out by the more sensitive Gold.

  • @metroampcom How are you not famous??...lol....Absoultely great playing goddam it

  • Dude you could seriously write the descriptions of amps on websites

  • sometimes yoou can get a reissue marshall plexi, an mod it, got less than one of these kits, but there metro kits are killer, nuthin resales like the real old plexi,s though..

  • Would like to hear this beauty singin' with a 335... GREAT SOUND !

  • I don't get it... the guitar sound on this clip sounds raspy and harsh to me...???

  • ... no , it's bright and fonky for me ... not really a bluesbreaker tone , mor of a vox tone ... but sounds good .

  • you're right.

  • perhaps the alnico speakers , reminind of VOX sound ... as someone said greenbacks wouild sound darker and creamier .

both sounds are , in my opinion amazin ^^

  • I think it's the speakers, Alnicos are brighter than Keramics - with a pair of Celestion Greenbacks (the original BB speaker setup) the tone should be more creamy

  • i think tha speakers are too trebly

  • yeah , i wonder the Alnico speakers sound too bright .perhaps tubes too . you know , tubes used to sound a lot darker 50 years ago .

so now ... we must think about removing brigt caps that used to be useful in the 60's and so on , because new tubes sound brighter i think . but , overall , i like this bluesbreaker , it sounds really cool , a lot more modern and bright ... but the crunch sounds creamy in the same time , i think in person it would sound real good .

  • So George how does this sound with Les Paul with Humbuckers?

  • It sounds great! But I have to turn the Bass all the way down. G

  • Cool how long before you are going to be selling it in Kit form?

  • You can build this in kit form now. Just order our kit with the "no head box" option. And buy Mojo's 2-12 Bluesbreaker cab.

    george

  • I was your site George and and I didn't see the kit form? By the way does this also have tremolo or not?

  • Hey,nice sounding speakers!

  • That really does sound good.

  • Very nice tone there! Are you going to offer some 18watters in the fututre? If so I'd buy one straight away! I myself have an 18watter, love them a lot. I think the two of them have a similar tone really.

  • Cool, I've got a JTM45 clone I built and I was wondering....did you have a hard time trying to record it? I see some expensive mics, are they worth it? Did you do a lot of experimentation with mic placement? Did you use expensive pre-amps too? Did you record your backing track? I think it helps to show the guitarist playing too, it adds visual interest. Thanks

  • I saw ya at the NY amp show your a great guy sick ass amps you build all the best for you peace

  • Awesome sounding.

  • Where do you sell these? I can't find it on your site? Do you have to buy a JTM 45 kit and assemble it yourself?

  • We just moved the site to a new server and will be updating. For now you can just contact us directly. 810-614-3905

    Thanks,

    george

  • how much are these bad boys?

  • I just noticed how bad the youtube conversion made this clip sound phasey. I'll see if I can find a workaround.

    george

  • Thanks, the settings are:

    Vol I: 8

    Treble: 6
