  • Those videos are horrible.

Also, If you were an artist, Every gesture drawing would look like an exact duplicate of each other.

Its all the same principals and technique, but it varies from artist to artist.

  • Because I really want to pay $20 on how to use a freaking pencil! I think I'll just teach myself thanks...

  • yea hes trying to teach us to draw like him, i dont like his style honestly hes good but he avoids the look that im looking for

  • wow...i'm taking my 1st drawing class this semester and my prof set this link up on the class website...really awesome job on the figure drawing...makes it look so easy and completely effortless...awesome job...i hope to use some of the techniques from this vid on some of the drawings I do for the class...great job buddy

  • Mmmkay

  • was really interesting seeing how few lines you use per line. I have that very very sketchy way of making lines. Like 20 overlapping strokes to get a curve the way i want.

  • were you drawing with a charcol pencil?

  • I'm still not seeing what the end result of the curriculum is. The proportions that you talk about in the forshortening segment as "being right" look similar to Ingres' Grand Odalisque, which is notorious for having room in the torso for an additional 5 vertebrae. I appreciate the Schiele look you're achieving, but I feel abstraction of the figure means more if it is intentional. This brings me back to question prime. What is the purpose of the Sheldon Art Academy?

  • haha you're a douche. trying to use pretty language in an attempt to disrespect somebody over the internet is just embarrassing for everybody.

  • when was i disrespectful? i compared his work to a brilliant neoclassical artist, and schiele, who is a brilliant artist as well. he also responded with a message which said it was for layout purposes, which i agreed with. the only disrespectful person regarding my comment was you. perhaps working on your reading comprehension would address this problem.

  • also, ingres was the teacher to my favorite artist: prud'hon. if anything, it was a compliment. my query was about whether the school focused on classical atelier training, or a more modern approach.

  • I'm with you just so you know -.-'

  • Did you actually say the words "question prime"? Are you kidding me right now?

  • haha. i was getting bored with my video critique. i completely forgot i did that, though. it gave me quite the chuckle.

  • Slow is fast. Wow. I can actually use that mantra with everything I do thoughout the day. Thanks Sheldon Borenstein.

  • its like magic.... i love it... he goes... whoop whoop whoop. TADDAAAAA... and its a perfect pose... in less than a minute wtf mate?

  • that goes with experience and practice, if you would draw the same figure over and over for a couple of days then even you would go: whoop whoop whoop, TADAAAAA! ;)

  • its art

  • that's what they all say lol

  • That's some awesome stuff man! :D

  • I loveee the narrator. :) He's so calm and reassuring.

  • you say it like its a story.

  • very nice =)

  • Excellent work! Your work is amazing. : ]

  • Your work is so amazing and your teaching is excellent. You are a real inspiration to me!

  • Your work is amazing Sheldon, you make otherwise difficult techniques easy and fun to learn. I only wish I could attend one of your classes first hand at a college.

  • Sheldon thanks for all your help, and the video is awsome, thanks for helping and everybody that helped also. I am real excited.I wish i could just move to california, awsome, this is really going to help.

  • RAGG!!

  • Just bought the video, waiting for you to send me the code so i can actually download it and watch it, still havent received the an email yet, but I am assuming its not buisness hours yet so thats why I havent received it but I am pretty excited, I want to be an animator and I feel this is the first step in becoming a good animator. I love drawing and want to improve, I am to hard on myself and want to get better, I think you are awsome Sheldon, easy to understand and follow.

  • Hoooooooooooooooooooray

You are the first to receive the new videos.

You are correct on both of your statements.

Yes, we do work on "LA time"

In the future please allow UP to 48 hours for processing.

And yes this school of drawing is the foundation for animation.

    Enjoy and keep in touch

    Sheldon

  • dang it I wish i would have waited just bought the structure of man, i wanted to get these lol, i think your awsome didnt think they were coming out yet

  • We are very happy that you like the video.

We priced the videos to be affordable to the student.

If we charged the going rate, the price would be out of the student budget.

  • Sheldon you're great! But still there's 1 little thing that bothers me... You said that professional drawers are paid good, well why would you make than extra movies and sell them for 20 dollars each? :/
