It was our big victory but some lithuanians just can celebrete it together with us :/ the FACT before battle they meet in castle in Nowy Sącz and made tactic there together propably! there is not much that can be done when battle begins also The Crown of Poland And Grand Duchy of Lithuania unleashed similar ammount of troops this victory cant be more shared than it is now :) Long live Lithuania Long live Poland!

Not really-Poland had around 1,800,000-2,500,000 ppl (different numbers from different historians) and Lithuania-around 300,000 Lithuanians and from 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 ppl of russ origin. Richer? In what aspect? Poland was feudal country for like 400 years, fully developed, christian etc, when Lithuania was just few steps from tribal fedration, so c'mon m8 ;)

actually, in VYtautas's times, ethnic lithuanians made at least 30% of GDL. That was in the territory between the Baltic and the Black sea. In those times, having control over such vast territories, that is not a small number now, is it :)

The battle was filmed quite properly. First attacked Liethuanian light forces, then Polish heavy knights smashed the enemy. During the battle King Jagiello comanded from the top of the hill, so he could observe the bettlefield. The film is based on the book written in XIX century, so it is not a document.

Nie było tam piechoty, wilczych dołów. Tylko bracia zakonni mogli nosić biały płaszcz z czarnym krzyżem po lewej stronie. Szyk "w płot" nie był tam używany. Odwrót litewski nie był tak do końca zmyłką, bo kilku z nich zatrzymało się dopiero w Wilnie, przekazując wieść o klęsce pol-lit armii. Forget the historical aspects everyone! this battle scene is just a short part of a movie, made after the Henryk Sienkiewicz novel: "Crusaders". It was written during "Positivism" period and the main task was to give hope to Polish nation, as Poland wasn't even on the map of Europe. And the film was made, when we had russians inside our boarders, so it had to be a big polish victory against western empires...:)

There is a Lithuanian project to make a new movie version of that battle. Ok, because for example, Lithuanians DIDNT ESCAPE from the field, just made eastern-traditional war trick. And probably they looked better (also Polish knights). But Lithuanians! Dont go to far with that movie! Dont prepare your false version: just 30% Poles on field, Lithuania with HEAVY cavalry enough good against Teitonic cavalry, and others....

Main Part of Lithuanian contigent were "Russian language soldiers nor Lithuanians", but who care. Teutons lost not only battle but alo lost European support. Especialy after Constancie trial.

btw, latest news - Lithuania is planning to make a movie about Grunwald battle. I do not think that a couple of million of eur is a very big money. Esp. to commemorate the great historical things our two nations did. |Was the biggest battle in the Medieval Europe in any case that crached all the might of the Teutonic order. And we should cease those things who were the best - PL or LT. Our nations fought together - we all united. And this is great.

@worras2007 I disagree . I watched that movie since I was child and it is classic in history of polish cinema comparable to "Gone with the wind" in Hollywood. So it is not wise to try to make new version of legendary movie because it  just cant be filmed any better
