I find it funny that he thinks what it contains makes it dangerous, when the amounts of the dangerous contents are so fucking minute that you could take 10 vaccines and still have no ill effect from the preservatives in it. Not to mention that the mercury is bonded to other things to make a preservative, and thus doesn't have the same properties as it does in its pure form. Anyone who really believes that Cash made a better version is entitled to their opinion. My opinion however is that the original is much more heart-felt and conveys the emotion a bit better. Cash's version undoubtedly gained more attention due to the timing of it's release being so close to his death.
