Tricked out windows desktop Samurize

Could you tell me how you did your dropdown thing? I used the tutorial from samurize's website, but it takes about ten seconds for my menus to expand.

I really like your configuration. Mine's pretty limited - this program has been a little difficult for me to pick up.

Would you mind giving me a few tips on how to do something similar? Particularly how the information autohides to one side of the screen?
