Yep.. Hypothyroidism sucks. It makes you tired.. It lowers your metabolism, making it difficult to lose weight. It jsut sucks. I have it too... So, I would know. Best of luck to ya!

im not hating, im just curious, has anybody seen or heard of a eitheopian, having a thyroid problem, causing them to be fat? my mother takes thyroid pills to, but i feel she eats to big of portions of food. this is a serious question. thanks

It's hard to make comparisons to third world countries because they die of a lot of diseases that are treatable or preventable in the developed world. As it turns out, though, my bigger problem is Lyme disease. It doesn't make me fat per se, just makes me too out of breath to exercise. At least I'm not gaining weight, though, so it should be easier to lose when I'm better and able to do some serious exercise.
