I just came across your video. When i convert the file to m4a and save it to the desktop, the thumbnail shows it as a quicktime movie file. It does not give me the option to change the file to m4r. Can you help me with this? Thanks.
Thanks for checking out the YouTube video. I've now moved to the Mac platform and if I remember right, you just need to change the extension from m4a to m4r and the click or double click on the m4r file and it will automatically put it into the ringtone directory ready to sync the ringtone to your iPhone.
i am able to follow steps, however wen going into view options, re configure time ie start 20, stop 30 secs, the stop just converts back to origional time any ideas?
It sounds like you are using the original iPhone on an earlier firmware for the 3G which only allows up to 30 seconds for a ringtone. The 3G with the latest update should allow you to have a ringtone up to 40 seconds however, I've only been able to create a ringtone up to 39 seconds. I'm not sure if a jailbroken iphone makes a difference or not if that's what you're using. Let me know if this helps you or not please.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. Remember that knowledge is power so share the power with others by spreading the word to other iPhone users. Good Luck, CYL...WSNH
You're right, I've got a lot of icons on the desktop. Now that I've made the video, I should have time to condense the icons on the desktop. Thanks, CYL...WSNH

I knew that there had to be a way to create ringtones for the iPhone using the Windows platform. Thanks
