  • I think I may know the reason this guys landing gear is missing. First off im no expert so this is just my opinion and what i have heard. My father owned a 172 that he had restored a few years back and he had removed the foot step ups from the landing gear. They had caused the gear to rust and became a weak point in the gear. Maybe this is why if you look at 0:29 it looks like there is part of the gear leg still there. Good job on the pilots behalf you dont see many of them shut down the engine

  • Good Job Man ! Minimal Damage

  • Absolutely first class Great Pilot

  • Yeah I'm with the guy below. What was the cause of this? BTW very well done, congrats to the pilot for such an excellent landing

  • i believe the gear broke off on take off

this airfield(barton or city airport as it is called now EGCB) is a very unforgiving grass runway ive flown from there a few times and it really is bumpy and it does need some sought of overhall but the ownerss (peel holdings) wont spend the cash they would rather build a rugby stadium over the road in stead a shame cos this was the origanal sight for manchester int. airport (egcc)

  • Ok, that is a Cessna 185. Fixed gear,it's not too often you see a fixed gear aircraft that has a landing gear malfunction beyond a flat tire or a low strut. I must ask, how did that left main end up missing?

  • Yeah dude that must of taken major skill some pilot's amaze me!

  • great pilot
