  • No question. Dallas is above the rest. Maybe an angel coming through him.

  • R.I.P. Altizer family

  • this song was so beautiful live it quite honestly almost made me cry

  • So happy that he played this in Vancouver tonight!

  • Beautiful song brings me to tears <3

  • I Want This Song Played At My Funeral.. its beautiful

  • 4 dead people disliked this song........

  • R.I.P. Uncle Leonard & David Matthew's <3

wish they knew how much we miss them.... *sighs* miss them a lot.

this song brought me into tears when i first heard it.

  • i only listen to this when i miss her.. everyday..

  • This song is about Ralph Serravalle, Dallas's old religion teacher. It breaks my heart and sends shivers down my spine just listening to it. I hope I never get to relate to this song, I can't imagine how that would feel. I gotta give it to him, Dallas is one of the toughest people I know and a true artist. Tall man. Hats down.

  • had me in tears after the first 12 seconds...

  • why do i find myself always singing this song and hitting the reply button?

  • R.I.P. Thomas Wright.

  • i listened to this six years ago before i even knew anyone who died. now that i do, it sounds different to me.

  • My best friend committed suicide a year ago today just a couple of days before I was going to. Made me realise what it does to the people who love you when you die. I was real messed up but I didn't kill myself because I didn't want to put my friends and family through the pain that I was going through. I miss you Scott and will never forget you. X

  • @piginizer wow, brother. that is absolutely terrible. I'm sorry for your loss man. Glad ur still around to read this.God blesses in ways that we can't see the beauty in until it's fully realized.

  • You can just hear the sadness. I'm not one to cry with songs but this song almost literally brings me to tears. =[ makes me think of my dad who passed away 6 years ago. =[

  • I love this song

  • "Missing EP is an EP by City and Colour, that was released at the same time as The Death of Me in January 2005, and was available only in Canada. The title song is about the death of Ralph Serravale, Dallas Green's high school religion and guitar teacher. Only 1000 copies of this CD were made and all proceeds went to the Denis Morris Catholic High School Starvathon which Serravale supported throughout his life."

    Now i things are straight...

  • @Ryot16 work cited*

  • My friend just died today and this song is all i can listen too... Serena you will always be missed but never forgotten! She was always stronger than me and a more happy person, something ive learned from and will always cherish for the rest of my life.

  • this makes me think of all the friends i used to have before i either moved or we just parted. i think the only thing that gets me by is Dallas Green he is an amazing musician and singer. Thanks for all the amazing music over the years :)

  • Dallas Green has said on many separate occasions that it was written about his guitar teacher, who's last name is Serravalle. Dallas Green is not a religious man at all. If he even believes in god, it is something that is within himself, and that he was never taught from a 'religion teacher'. Please, learn things before you go posting stuff, especially if you're going to post the wrong meaning of a song like this. Not trolling, just setting things straight.

  • you both are wrong, he wrote it for the fallin soldiers that died.

  • ryan dunn was a big part of the pa bmw car community, funny how i originally only knew him from the jackass films

  • not his guitar teacher, it was his religion teacher.

  • Gives me goosebumps everytime. Even though this song is sad it helps me feel more intune with myself.

  • This song reminds me of my friend who passed away April 11,2011.

She was one of the most heartfelt person, you could ever have the privledge of meeting, and I cannot describe how much it hurt losing her...

I love you so much Hunter, keep watching over us hun, from your paradise.♥ I think of you every day..

  • This song hits me so hard whenever I listen to it, not even the words... Just the music itself pulls on my heart strings.

Dallas Green really knows what's good man.

  • My friend just died today and this song is so touching.... js

  • I lost one of my best friends to a drug overdose 6 years ago, words cant describe how much I miss him,but this starts to scratch the surface of it, your always in my heart jay

  • i miss my best friend

  • "And finally i'll say it with love, i hope you're at rest in the star's above"

Have the 'Sometimes' tattoo on my ribs with these lyrics in the banners..dedicated to my nana :) <3

  • In my opinion, Dallas, in his projects away from Alexisonfire, defines what should be the true meaning of "straight from the heart.. from nowhere else." God bless him and everything he's been through - he's come out wow'ing the world in the ways the world most needs to be wow'ed in its current state. He's inspirational to all of mankind to be as good and to live as best you can before one day you'll find yourself... missing.. but never gone.

  • best night time chilling song, looking up at the stars

  • Where's this song from?

  • @deadlypotato If I remember correctly, it was released on an album in Canada. He did it for a High School or something, I don't remember all the details. Either way, it's probably damn near impossible to find the CD this song came on.

  • This song really strikes a chord with me. It feels good to connect with music like this, something that can help console what ever loss someone's been going through.. I never understood why Mario left us that night, i don't think he quite did either.. R.I.P. Mario, loved but never forgotten.

  • It's too bad this song upsets Dallas so much, it's full of so much emotion and it would be really good live. Oh well, at least we have THIS recording of it.

Thank you Dallas for giving any of us who have lost a loved one a song to remember them by. We all love you.

  • anyone know where i can get a fresh mp3 of this song? Would greatly appreciate :D

  • @senseirofl you can go to zamzar.com and change this into a mp3

  • to correct the song description Mr. Sarevalle was our religion teacher, the guitar teacher was Mr. Klim

    peace

  • @PolGrady Good shout, I noticed that mistake.. Wish i knew more about this.. not that there seems to be alot to find out surrounding this song as its pretty self explanatory.. Why did Dallas see him as such an inspiration to write such a lovely song about him? I'm a huge Dallas fan and i can't find alot about this particular song!

  • Playing this at my Gran's funeral.

  • I think I've listened to this seven times in a row.

  • @EpicBaZ249

  • to all the people who have the thoughts, regrets and feelings.. to commit scuicide, please try to remember how it will affect everyone, and i mean everyone that love and know you. My friend had commited scuicide and most of the school didnt know her, but yet every single student cried the day they found out. No matter what you go through never turn to scuicide. NO MATTER IF WE KNOW YOU OR NOT, YOU ARE ALLWAYS LOVED. dont ever think anything different. <3

  • this be my fav song of all time.

  • within the first week of discovering this song, my itunes playcount was 222. everything about this song is just amazing to say the least.

  • This song is a dedication to his religion teacher who cheer up to be a musician.

Dallas really apreciate him for what he does to his life

  • My friend Alisha died in a car accident today. She was hit on the driver's side by an 18 wheeler. I saw her yesterday and I didn't think anything of it so I just waved at her and made an awkward confused face. Now I regret that and wish I had said more..

Rest in peace Alisha, wherever you go, be at ease.

  • @IHateNicholas666 I think your gesture was the most honest one you could have made, with enough expression for her to understand, no words needed. Do not regret anything you did or didn't do. :) take care!

  • @mallejamie Thank you so much. Her wake was today.

  • @IHateNicholas666 Dont worry man, she knows exactly what u feel

  • This song reminds me of my Grandmother who passed away. She fell asleep driving herself to church on a Sunday morning because she had low blood sugar and she died on impact. I break down whenever I think about her. She couldn't have been a better person. I love you Helen Argondizza, I hope with all my heart's power that you are at rest. Just remember, it wasn't ever a goodbye. It was a see you later. R.I.P.

  • the school the song is written about and the proceeds went to was my school.

    Denis Morris baby! :)

  • :'(

  • Dallas made this song when he lost his religion teacher. He had a hard time because Mr. Serravalle was the teacher who helped him out back in the day when he started playing the guitar. He helped Dallas believe in himself, and to become the man he is today.

He doesn't sing this song often live because it's an emotional song :)

    .:RASTAGURL:.

  • DALLAS IS THE FUCKING MAN!!!

  • I went to High School with Dallas and had the pleasure of having a close relationship with Ralph Serravalle. He was a Religion teacher, never taught guitar but inspired many, since he loved music. So glad to see Dallas has appropriately grabbed his spirit with this tune!

  • i am just free..listening to this song...i suggest you do the same

  • it was his guitar/religion teacher.

    listen to the fucking words!

  • this song is just hauntingly beautiful. like it just bashes you especially if you have lost someone.

  • Great song, so chill and peaceful.

  • you guys are retards...do your research. the song was about his religion teacher....geezus, have respect!

  • Even if you are right, does it matter? Get over yourself. Dallas wouldn't want someone arguing over a song. It clearly means a lot, and means something different to everyone.

Just enjoy the song, arguing is disrespectful.

  • haha...

    Have respect?

You just used the term 'retard' disrespectfully.

    I would consider proofreading, bud.

  • you wanna talk about respect and you fling the term "retards" around carelessly.

    Do your research on respect!

  • When my close friend passed away I listened to this song over and over, it really is so perfect, I love Dallas.

  • wow.

    this song is perfect.

  • Oh alright then my apologies.

  • goddammit man learn how to spell guitar ;P aha

  • @EpicBaZ249 he taught dallas to believe in himself as a musician cos dallas was having doubts

  • @KraZerrrBTD

Mr. Seravelli was a religion teacher at our school, he played a HUGE role in helping all of us become aware of the rest of the world and the role we play in it. Dallas played every year at starvathon (a school tradition to raise money for the less fortunate) until he graduated. Back then he wasn't famous he just really believed in the cause. It's great to see that he is still the stand up individual he was back then. Good for you Dallas, we all miss Mr Seravelli dearly.

  • @grimaa2 Liar.

  • @cheynecastillo yes... you're right I'm lying.... then again you could just look it up online "Mr. Seravalli Denis Morris high School". I'm not taking anything away from Dallas, I'm simply stating what this song is about and why he wrote it. If you really care that much get in contact with DM and ask them about the history of Starvathon and how you can help out.... then again, it's much more fun to be ignorant on the net then help someone right.....

  • @grimaa2 lol what are you talking about?

  • i played this song as a dedication to my dad at his funeral it still makes me cry every time i hear it.

  • He wont play this song live, he says its really hard for him to do, because it makes him cry :(
