a lot of people have been critiquing Bear as a phony, but I tell you what I continue to watch his shows. I watch them because staged or not, they provide useful and practical skills which I can even apply. I'm in U.S. Navy and Im a Navy SEAL and I can attest to some of the skill sets which he has presented on this shows. I'm always learning and therefore keep up the good work and presenting skill in various of the environments.

Everything on TV is staged to a certain extent. What you don't see is 200lbs of camera equipment, which one man just cannot carry and jump across glaciers, carry on a make-shift raft, hunt deer in 5ft of snow with, etc. So what if he has a crew and sleeps in a hotel at night? After covering himself in mud, shoving bird shit up his ass and eating a mouthful of grubs with a cup of his own urine, I doubt he wants to retire to a centipede infested shithole of a make-shift camp. HE CAN. He just wont.
