  • Man, when I saw this then, I was like "It's about time Horner!" What an upset for the time!

  • I remember this like yesterday...and this was a BIG deal at the time. Even in singles competition, the notion that the Road Warriors would even lose was not even thought of. They were running roughshod over everyone and everything. It was a joy to watch. :)

  • Cont'd ....... They were mid card at best and the truly GOOD (not food) Tag Teams could and were Main Event quality all the time..

  • The Killer Bees are not even in the Top 50 all time. They might, might be in the Top 100 but I doubt it. They were Midcard at best and the truly food

  • Wow Animal looks especially bad ass! This is clearly booked as an upset. Horner is a pretty good old school technical wrestler, but Hawk is a legend. LOD rocks!

  • OMG! Hawk jobs to a midcarder!

  • This is when the Road Warriors were the most feared and hated tag teams in the wrestling world. They first appeared in Georgia Championship Wrestling in the early eighties and ran rough shod over almost everyone.

    Ken Palmer

  • @kenpalmer1965 hawk had just got there...but Animal was already apart of paul ellering's legion of doom...with arn anderson, jake roberts, king kong bundy, buzz sawyer and a few other people...this is also right b4 they beat the hell out of paul ellering too

  • R.I.P.

  • you cant get that kinda eruption in your wwe arenas....NWA/mid atlantic/georgia was the greatest

  • it was no upset

    horner was way underrated

  • Uh, wrong. I remember being in the civic center in Tulsa weekly in the mid-80's, having to suffer through Tim Horner yawn-fests. No, not because I'm a fan of flash, or don't respect mat wrestling. Horner could do some moves, no different than 1000 other jobbers. He could not cut a promo, and generated no excitement at all. The reason the fans go crazy at the end is because it was such a monumental upset.

  • If you want more people to watch the WWE. Vince I hope you are glued watching this video. This is what wrestling is all about. Not these stupid gimmicks! John Cena? Give me a break!

  • Kind of like Little Jack Horner, who sat in a corner, eating a Christmas pie? Those children's nursery rhymes are just full of porn, aren't they, deaconfantana?

  • Thanks for posting - Horner was underrated.

  • Now why can't we have more great shit like this in wwe???I could write it..give me the big paycheck.

  • This is one of the biggest upsets in wrestling history. Tim Horner was a great worker though.

  • i would love to see Randy Orton vs HAWK

  • Notice the quality of rings then and today. Every time someone fell the ring shook, a lot of give compared to the rings now.

  • That is one small looking ring.

  • It's the camera view.

  • no....that is a smaller ring

  • This aired on Saturday on TBS at 6:05 PM, before McMahon took over the air time.

  • What year was this? Was this before Tony Schiavone and David Crockett became the announcers? Thanks for posting this.

  • this was about 1984 and Gordon Solie did the commentery on the show

  • @nflabc123 This was around 1984, I believe. Tony and David didn't take over commentary until after WWF's run with the show. This is maybe a few months before Black Saturday, I'm not real sure with the timing on the date of this show though.

  • @leandar Sometime between Feb - March of 84 I believe. Not long before the Black Saturday mess

  • @OrigLanceR Thanks for the info. :)

  • roadwarrior R.I.P :'(

  • whats up with the the way the video is

  • I remember watching this and being shocked that Horner actually beat Hawk. This was great wrestling!

  • I remember this match too. This was one the best matches Tim Horner has wrestled pulling a big upset over Hawk, years before the Road Warriors became fan favorites. But the RW's are still the greatest tag team in pro wrestling.

  • that was a good match.

  • Not only do i miss the LOD, but i miss the cheesey studio wrestling. The place where they built all the heat and let it all out at the PPV's.

  • couldnt have said it better myself

  • that got the crowd goin!

  • Yeah Tim Horner was da man thats that bottom line.

  • Can't believe RA Hawk lost to this guy.

  • before goldberg and lesnar there was roadwarrior hawk

  • @kar5431 and road warrior animal both of the road warriors were 4 times better than goldberg but a bit better than lesnar (pure pro wrestling not bashing him)

  • @kar5431 you say "before" as though hawk was the best until they came along. hawk would have easily torn most wrestlers apart, including those 2!

  • I too remember seeing this when it happened. I loved it. I had watched Tim Horner wrestle in Knoxville before he went to Georgia. He made the people of Tennessee proud.

  • RIP Hawk. LOD Is the greatest team ever.

  • I remember watching this when it happened, I was 20 and in the army at ft. leonardwood, mo. and I couldnt believe that hawj lost. I miss the old legion of doom the road warriors, jake the snake and king kong bundy. I just met road warrior animal and got him to sign my wwe title belt. He is slimmed down but he looks great. R.I.P. hawk/mike and the dean of professional wrestling Gordon Solie.

  • hawk is brutal.half of the greatest tag team ever.he owned the ring when he was in it.could of easily been a singles world champ if he wanted

  • I was 15 and remember seeing this live on TBS. It was the FIRST time either of the Road Warriors were ever pinned. Tim Horner made Knoxville, Tennesseans proud!!! But I agree, the Road Warriors were the greatest tag team of all time, nobody else was even close. They would kick the snot out of all these pansies from the WWF of today.

  • Wow, Nick Patrick can't be older than 20 in this

  • 2:45 to 4:00 is exciting to watch as Hawk just totally pounds away at Horner. Fun to watch a pumped-up confident muscle stud Hawk intimidate Horner by talking trash to him as he knocks him down so many times. Hawk was brutally awesome.

  • Hawk wanted to stay as a tag team champ with Animal, so they had him lose. Still, it's amazing to see how pumped up and huge he is. Most powerful and macho dude I have ever seen in my life. Middle of this clip is cool when Hawk is telling Horner to get up so he can knock him down again. Hawk was an intimdidating muscle stud who could have beat the sh*t out of anybody.

  • I agree SpaceGhost about Hawk and Animal, but the Killer Bees??? Brunzell was much better in the AWA with Gagne. As for a close second...hands down Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson!!!!

  • Road Warriors, no doubt, #1. Arn and Tully, Rock & Roll Express, Midnight Express and The British Bulldogs Really did it for me.

  • wipping a tear from my eye.......I grew up watching NWA wrestling. The Road Warriors were and still are the best tag team EVER! a close second is a tie between the rock & roll express and the killer bees.

  • i was 10 and i remember watching this like it was yesterday. this was great great wrestling. rip hawk and gordon solie!

  • i remmmber watching this like it was yesterday , i was so pissed that he lost i couldnt talk to anyone at school the next day and they were laughin at me making fun of hawk for losing

  • thanks alot

  • its not that hawk isnt selling it, that was just part of his persona... he did exactly what he was suposed to

  • Between the Road Warriors, Hawk did better in singles competition.

  • tim horner over hawk...RIIIIIIIGHT,it's believable...i was never impressed by horner even when he & brad armstrong where the lightning express.he was C material at best but, good mat wrestling in this match i can't front on that, but it was hawk's brutality that made the mat wrestling look good so..you know.....

  • Excellent closing as Tim Horner pinned the Hawk! One of Horner's classic matches during his wrestling career! I followed Horner's career a lot from the early '80s to his '90s championship glory!

  • At least he didn't stand around and gloat after he won.

  • Road Warrior Hawk was told by the promoter to legitimately fuck up your opponents. THe LOD apologized to their opponents backstage if they like them. Hawk was a boucner in a very tough part. They was train by Eddie Sharkey. Dont know much about Ed but this guy look like he's part of the mafia. Eddie Sharkey trained the best heels of the 80's.

  • Hawk might no-sell a lot, but at least he lets Horner execute his move-set well.

  • It was obviously set up. Hawk could have killed that punk if he had wanted to. Hawk was a stud. Best part of match is from 3:30 to 5:00.
