  • 「神曲」・・・めったに使わないこの言葉はこの曲のためにある。

  • 神すぎるw

  • i miss the tachikoma!

  • This song fits Motoko kusanagi & Batou perfectly. 2 epic characters equals a very Epic theme. Thus Torukia comes in. I can never get enough of this song. Especially when Motoko, saito and batou are gearin toward the helicopter and take off without bein seen. Thats what made this theme worth listenin to. I repeated that scene constantly because of this theme. Never knew the name of it until yesterday. :)

  • In the land of "Torukia" Words fall to become the sand Did you see the sea? Did you see the sea? Guided by the waterway of thought A proud spirit walks a proud road A humble sprit walks a humble road And between the two The fog breaks over the flat land And a song that cannot be heard dries out those two spirits In the land of "Torukia" Words fall to become the sands
  • Arent those the 3 main characters/protoganists?I seem to notice that Bato,Kusanagi, and Togusa are seen more than any other Section 9 oprative.Their all my favorits so if not oh well!

  • These lyrics, like several other of yokka kinno's pieces for gits are being sung in several different languages including English, Japanese, and Russian.

  • In the land of "Torukia" Words fall to become the sands

  • this video has been on my fav list for 2 years. and its going to stay there!!

    its a great song

  • LOOOOOL ur Great for uploading this....!! BIG THX i was searching this for weeks !!!!

  • I ♥ this song!

    it's my favourite!

    so great!

    5* :D

  • This is the kind of music Kanno is known for. This moves you, makes you cry while smiling at the sky.

  • This , i must agree.

  • Jdarryl13 I know why you like this song.

    It's because it is awesome.

  • This song is just aural sex on cyberpunk pills. I love it!!

  • Indeed.

  • @Morden1998 Lol, I love your comment.

  • @Morden1998 i totally agree.

  • The title is "Torukia," not "Turkey." So Yoko Kanno didn't mean the country. I looked at the lyrics and, besides the parts in other languages that I couldn't understand, they didn't have anything to do with Turkey.

  • I think Torukia means 'Turkey', the country, in Japanese. Can't be 100% sure, though. But I know that 'Toruko' means Turk.

  • Torukia is a very odd word. It doesn't come up in any dictionary or language database I can access, so it may be a slang or colloquial term.

Turkey has a few different names in Japanese, but the closest one to this name would be "Toruko". In answer to baharrrr, Turk would be Toruko-jin (person from Turkey).

Toruko could also refer to the colour turquoise.

It is possible "Torukia" is the name of the future Turkish region in the GITS universe.

  • After a bit of further checking I think I have found the answer.

I am assuming that this song (like several other GITS SAC songs) is being sung in Russian. I believe the Russian word for Turkey can be romanised as "Tortsia" (forgive me if I have that wrong, my Russian is a little vague).

I would guess that Torukia isn't a real Japanese word but is an adaptation of the Russian word into Japanese syllables for the purpose of the lyrics.

  • OOoo, naruhodo :) Thank you MurasakiNoKanja, great research!

  • but what does turkey have to do with anything? well i don't speak russian or japanese so i don't know anything, but when listening to the song, it doesn't sound to me like they are reffering to turkey at all

  • @MurasakiNoKanja actually i believe the song is sung in the language Yoko Kanno created (Gablish i think it's called) which has been used in a lot of Yoko Kanno/Gabriela Robin's songs from various anime (such as Sora from Escaflowne).

  • This is definitely a great song....

and this is definitely a great anime....

    I adore GITS!!!

  • Whose the guy with white hair and gray eyes. Watched a bit of the series recently, but I didn't catch his name

  • Batou?

  • Yeah. That's the one. He's the main character, right?

  • he's one of the main characters/casts

  • It's Batou, and he's not the main character in this, although he is in the movie Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence, a really terrific film.

  • Whose the main character in the tv series?

  • "The Major" Motoko Kusanagi

  • I thought so. I've only seen a couple of episodes though.

  • Well in the main isnt really important , the series kinda concentrates around everyone in the team. Certain eps will concentrate around a certain member, for exemple in season 2 when Saito tell his story too rookies while playing poker to how he met the Major etc. They all have their lil-moments.

  • Is there a main bad guy. I've watched some of the series, but I got bored waiting for a main villian

  • There is never a main villain, usually is some sort of conspiracy involving hackers or AI program that becomes self aware.

  • I must being thinking of one of the movies then

  • There is a main villain, but i wouldnt call them villains. There are several side villains, but the series is all exiting .. ifyou do love this kinda series, personnaly its my top 5 gits unaverse. If you watch them all carefully, youll know what i mean when I say *Not really villains. the main base.* Anyways, great series, great actions, great persoz and good storie.

  • Yup, most side villains to me. There's a lot of Anti-heros who are made out to be the main villain throughout the series but then the twists are always at the end when it turns out that they're the good guys and there's a different "bad guy".

  • awesome. I've watched a couple episodes, and so far there's no bad guy, but I like the setting.

  • Watch the movie, dont watch the series.

To be clear, the (First) movie.

  • in the land of torukia, words fall to become the sands...

  • great song

  • This is one of the fucking sickest songs ever

  • is GitS: SAC a videogame? whats that about??

  • Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex is an Anime.

Go look it up on Google or Wikipedia for that matter.

  • but there is a PS2 game for it though O:

  • good song...

  • lol so do i i have to hear this song every day or i will die

  • I love me some fuckin' Ghost in the Shell.

  • Its the Buisness time song!

  • Isn't that track called Torkia?!

  • No, there are no lone consonants in Japanese other that "n".

  • "U" sounds in Japanese are sometimes silent (or nearly silent), so while it is spelled Torukia you may have heard someone say Torkia. :)

  • Or Tolkia?

Japanese sometimes melt the letter 'L' to "r, or 'eru''

  • Awesome song, i would say the best in th first SAC along with Cyberbird or Stamina rose. They reflect perfectly the cyberpunk culture, eventhough the true cyberpunk master pice is still the first GITS movie.

  • epic

  • Love it!!!! Never mind about the last comment!!!!! I already got the 3rd OST

  • Where'd you get this song. I need to put it on my computer!!!!!

  • Yay! Love it.

  • dammit i didn't know there were 3 SAC soundtracks. i need to get the last one now.

  • there's actually more than three

there's one for the solid state society movie, and another for the tachikoma called "be human"

there might even be more, but for now i'm working on uploading the 3 SAC ost's

  • do you know if there are any for the first two movies? in particular i really want a copy of the song from the opening credits of the first movie.

  • Yes, there are soundtracks to the first two. I have the soundtrack for the first, but not the second

  • thanks, i will have to get it eventually. By the way, the first GITS movie was on the Scifi channel last night. i stayed up for most of it but fell asleep just before (spoilers!!!) she merged consciousnesses with the Puppet Master.

  • really i hav the dvd(the english version)

  • yeah, i have to get the first 2 movies on DVD someday...

  • nah, sorry, i don't know

    um... check wikipedia lol

  • oh btw, ost 3 just arrived today, and i think it's my favorite of the 3 from the series!

  • i love this kind of music!!!!!

  • plays during the first few minutes of the last episode in 2nd gig

  • Don't even watch the show but love this song

  • like this song very much

  • I'm trying to find the version Origa sung of this in the Ragnarok 2 Concert. Anyone know where I could get it? Thanks.

  • that one's called inner universe. you could find it on limewire, probably.

  • some of it sounds like finnish joiking.

  • My favorite song from GitSAC, I think. So... amamzing!

  • Yoko Kanno is Gabriela Robin. there is far too much confusion surrounding the issue for her not to be.

  • Gabriela Robin is the vocalist, she does the singing here whereas Yoko Kanno is the composer who wrote the music for this masterpiece

Loving the violin work at 4:30

  • Guys, Gabriela Robin is Kanno's Pseudo Name. She use this name when she sings.

  • There's no actual evidence of that, it's highly speculated.

  • i never heard this song b4 , it's tight thanks for uploading it.

  • Does anyone know in what episode it first appears? I have totally forgotten

  • Confusion at the North End in the Second Gig is the the episode I always remember.

  • Thanks a lot

  • And this video is the episode you said? I have started with episode 23. Hope to see this video. Will I?

  • I can't remember the episode name, but it begins with Motoko sneaking into the CIS offices (I think) and having that really long talk with Gohda.

Although if you want to be technical, the general theme is played in episode 24 of the first season of SAC.

  • yeah, thanks

I have already seen this episode - #9

    very mice

When exactly? I haven't noticed it

  • Just after the attack on Section 9, when everyone is heading their separate ways.

  • first time i heard this song was on a K-1 World Max HL by rhys

    great song

  • she is not Yoko Kanno! Is Gabriela Robin!

  • The vocal is indeed Gabriela Robin, but the song is Yoko's work. Like Inner Universe and Rise are performed by Origa but the album is Yoko's.

  • yeah, it's so friggin' awesome. Yoko Kanno is a genius

  • one of yoko kanno's best pieces

  • Definatly one of THE best

  • one of the best songs ever

  • J'adore !!!! : )

  • Torukia is one of the best songs in the whole series IMO.

  • that is the best song ever made!

  • i like it since i watched gits sac 1&2

    thanks for upping ;)
