Nicely done, and you saved a bundle on parts, but HOW MUCH TIME did it take you to put all this together??? I used to build roboting arms from thrown away electronics and 50% of the time was spent dissassembling the throw away, 20% spent planning & desinging and 30% doing the actual assembly. And all this added together took a lot of time!!!
On the bright side though, when the global economic melt down finaly happens you may just be in high demand, but for now you're just a hobbyist!

Ya, but only one watt? We all know if you short out the output on a generator of a car, it will seize the belt, and stop turning. The magnetic field is so strong. So how much of a load can you get before you have problems.
Could you place magnets in the center of the hard drive. Than suspend another of the same polarity to push it. Like the free energy idea? Or is it too close to the other magnets on the outside that it will mess it up?

Problem is, that will send you volts to a level that what ever you are powering will get toasted. You would need a braking system or a high voltage storage unit. I am pretty sure this will work. Besides, I think the efficiency of common solar cells is 6%. Leds are more efficient light emitters than incandescent, but still put out heat energy, as a waste product. I know, I have been playing with them since the 80's. So a closed loop will not work. The idea of using magnetic energy is more promising. You cannot get free energy from anything. But using radioactive waste would be smarter, in my opinion, Kill two birds with one stone. Radioactive waste gives off a lot of energy

How do you estimate this is 15W since your not running it into a load. You need amperage to caclulate wattage. If you are feeding a load then this is BS cause your just spinning it with your hand & if loaded it would stop immediatly.

Ya, but only one watt? We all know if you short out the output on a generator of a car, it will seize the belt, and stop turning. The magnetic field is so strong. So how much of a load can you get before you have problems.

Could you place magnets in the center of the hard drive. Than suspend another of the same polarity to push it. Like the free energy idea? Or is it too close to the other magnets on the outside that it will mess it up?

@blueorchid1100 Are you talking about negative friction? If you can pull that one off... I will be glad to give it a try. Problem is, that will send you volts to a level that what ever you are powering will get toasted. You would need a braking system or a high voltage storage unit. I am pretty sure this will work. No to sure about ferroiquid theory though.

Besides, I think the efficiency of common solar cells is 6%. Leds are more efficient light emitters than incandescent, but still put out heat energy, as a waste product. I know, I have been playing with them since the 80's. So a closed loop will not work. The idea of using magnetic energy is more promising. You cannot get free energy from anything. But using radioactive waste would be smarter, in my opinion, Kill two birds with one stone. Radioactive waste gives off a lot of energy

Your contention that oil companies would NOT try to stop a source of free energy is not only perposterous, it's actually false. Now, you nor I will NEVER be able to show that it was Exxon or Chevron DIRECTLY that bought out or downright made an inventor "take a dirt nap"...but that doesn't mean it doesn't and hasn't happened. How do you estimate this is 15W since your not running it into a load. You need amperage to caclulate wattage. If you are feeding a load then this is BS cause your just spinning it with your hand & if loaded it would stop immediatly.
