But make-up itself is not haram if you are wearing it at home in front of your family, husband or friends. If you beautify yourself for your husband it is halal and a very good thing.

Some of the principles there are good like the sharing your food with other people but can somebody please explain me why is it that women have to cover her hair and men don't?

hi ther, i'll try my best 2answer ur ques. its not the hair dat women r covering, but the whole body except 4hand n face or coverin our beauty. so if the face is so beautiful, it shud b covered too. we do it 1st bcos it is commanded by Allah. 1 of the wisdom is 2avoid raising men's temptation thus protect ourselves from evil temptation, inshaAllah.

Firstly the reason we try to dress and behave modestly is because it is a command of God and we wish to please our Creator.

Secondly, we are only practicing what you practice by covering your breasts in public. Though it is legal to walk topless in our province and in designated places, most women are too modest to do so.

They're reasons are the same as ours. Shyness, to protect oneself from unwanted sexual attention, etc.

Think of Mary, the mother of Jesus. How did she dress?
