I'm sorry, but the first (3) examples that were in this video WERE GREAT MINDS. In my opinion, The Narcissist thinks they are on the same level as the First (3) examples used. So, I can't give you a thumbs up on this video.
@commonman80 Ayn Rand is not a great mind and she certainly is a narcissist which is blatantly obvious if you have ever read Atlas Shrugged. I am sure that the reason that all characters in her books are so two dimensional is that she suffered a pathological lack of empathy which made her unable to have any deeper insights into human psychology.
@kingofqwerty, I know that. I feel the same way too. However, If you RE-READ my post, I posted THE FIRST THREE EXAMPLES WERE GREAT MINDS. Ayn Rand, was the last of the Four examples.
@plaubel28 They are similar disorders and symptoms overlap. Sociopaths are just socialised high functioning psychopaths. Narcissistic personality disorder, anti-social personality disorder (psychopathy), BPD and histrionic personality disorder have been clustered together as drama disorders.
I'm definitely a very smug person, but I'm not a narcissist. Can someone explain the difference to me? I don't treat people like pawns, but I always stick my nose up to people I don't like.

I am married to a Narcissist whi us now in jail. I hope to use this time to divorce. He has physically beaten me because I wanted to leave him. He has manipulated me in ways I cant even speak of here
they are extremely deceitful and phony and hide their true colors...most are very charming but they never allow you to get close because they are so insecure, its a big facade for them
manipulative as they are you never come to your own qualities. You are always in a serving position. Most narcist are not famous ore extra gifted. They just cann't live their own live. They denie crueltys s instead they say we are better people. We are better than the rest.
I sometimes wonder how people's opinions or political views could be used against them in a totalitarian state with psychiatrists in charge. If they disagree with the state obviously they only have their own interests, so they must be autonomous narcissists, which is unpatriotic.
Narcissists are a huge problem for people that are involved with them, but the funny thing for me here, is I get an intuition that the person who wrote the book is
a narcissist! Her picture strikes me as someone who is *stuck* on herself, and lots of
people with psych degrees are folks who have real problems relating to other people deeply, natively.
I also question whether Pablo Picasso and Frank Lloyd Wright were narcissists. What, are real geniuses supposed to not have the courage of
My dad is one and so far my life has been horrible. He's controlling every aspect of my life like he's my god, or even master. I haven't seen about 90% of my family my whole life and he's keeping me from seeing the other 10% that I haven't seen in the last 5 years.
@mangoisback000cp It's good you notice though .... keep aware .... and look after yourself .... also without losing empathy or becoming emotionally stunted
Mongolenpup - everything you said about your parents is true about someone I know (husband's cousin)! His grandparents are on her side. We cut our ties with them 2 years ago and changed our last names and it's been heaven!
@mongolenpup, oh yes, they will spend the rest of their time scheming to destroy you. The one I was speaking of even impersonated another person and gave her info (phone # & name) out so that the man would call her while she was at home with her boyfriend. It didn't work though..
From all of my studying, not all narcistics are sociopaths, but I think all sociopaths are narcistic. My cowokier is both. Always scheming and pure evil. She has many people fooled who are not around her much.
@plaubel28 yes Narcissistic are not consciously evil, they do not intentionally want to hurt other people (tho as the sociopath they are unable to love), their entire life is based on a ''false-self'' to compensate for unexisting love of their ''true-self''.. sociapath are violent sadistic, they take a great pleasure in consciously inflicting pain and injuries to other people, they are unable to feel any emotions (whereas NPD's do have emotions even tho they can't love)
That's my coworker, loves to inflict emotional pain, she even confided that to another worker. She also think that even at her age of 30, she's smarter than everyone.
My older sister is a narcissist. I have taken too much emotional abuse from her. I decided that she was too toxic for me. I have shut down any relationship with her. I am relieved.
@JohnnyRock2000 How VERY true! Had Narcissist ex... and pinpointed my daughter in law as one. It kills me to watch her suck the life out of my son who does everything to try to please her, yet he's not good enough. The B.... turned on me yesterday after I'd spent the entire day helping them out. She can forget about me being one to applaud her in any lights. SHe's down right evil!
I'm divorcing my narcissistic husband after years of abuse--constant humiliations, criticisms, and cruel deception and lies. I'm scared but going ahead anyway
I keep going back and forth about divorcing my husband of three years. I'm almost sure he is a narcissist based on all my reading. My gut tells me to go ahead with it. I am in too much pain.
I'm making a decision to divorce my narcissistic wife of fifteen years. I'm tired of being the victim of her self absorption and complete lack of empathy. She is obsessed with herself. It took me a while to see that she is a true narcissist, incapable of loving me or anyone else.
My older brother is a narcissist. My mother favored him over everyone else. He was very mean and humiliated me in front of his friends. Today, he is the same self absorbed, cruel human being that I remember. I keep my contacts with him to a minimum. I have friends that are family.
I got up the nerve to end my relationship with my narcissistic mother. She has been a dark destructive force in my life. She hurt me too many times. I am relieved.

He played real head games, emotional blackmail, the works. Yet noone believes me. Hes so sweet and charming. I only really realised it when his mum told me (after I let him move in) Still can't get my head round it.
Sweety, rarely do people believe you if they have met them because they come off so charming. They would have to spend time with them to see how evil they are and deceitful. I know, I work with one. She has many customers fooled, but not all, some are on to her and know her ways.
Dont be so hard on yourself, I was married to one for 25 years, had three kids and only realised in the last 5 years that it wasnt all in my head like he said.
For people who love or have loved a narcissist, check out Echo Personality Disorder. It will shed a lot of light on why you love them. It's very liberating.
yeah, but I made myself a cup of tea this morning and looked at the beautiful australian desert sunrise and all is good, He tried to control and destroy me when he couldnt control me, but I am still standing. and happy.
I'd like to hear if psychologists think the structures we call governments have helped create ever more narcissists, and megalomaniacs, like the narcissistic parent who creates a narcissistic child.
I almost married a narcissist. He was very successful and charmed everyone. I fell for him immediately. I thought he really loved me. He only cared about himself and turned mean. Thank God, I broke up with him in time.
Narcissists tend to use people as their recepticles or garbage cans for their issues and emotions as they transfer and project themselves and their wills onto others. Nothing is their fault, everyone else and the world is doing it, they couldn't possibly be at fault. My brother is a narcissist and I have nothing to do with him any longer. If you think you matter to a narcissist, think again, you are nothing more then an instrument to further their own agenda.
The narc I was with projected. It was so blatantly obvious to me. Good thing I know myself otherwise I would have believed him. He lies, steals, use ppl, is unable to love. He accused me of all these things. Really made my jaw drop at times. He hit his boss, got fired and blamed me!! hahah. Never seen som1 with so many agendas. He had to leave his town because evry1 knew him.
@diamonddust22 oh come the fuck on. nobody forced you to let someone else use you as a garbage dump that you are. you let yourself be used like that. stupid fucking bitch.
@DropDead Maybe you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You are obviously a child, either that or a heartless asshole. The average good person has a good nature, and they want to trust, and they do. A narcissist uses good nature as an avenue for their own agenda, that only they know about. Slowly, over a long period of time, you start to feel the effects of their sickness. If you can't understand it, or don't want to, then don't bother replying. You are obviously a narc, yourself
@diamonddust22 i understand. im sorry. i am a naive and trusting person too. but i definitely listen to my gut and intuition and thats how i can spot someone who is a little off, no matter how pleasant their appearances are. thats how i avoided a narccissist recently who i would have otherwise really fell in love with.
@DropDeadCouture In my experience there is only a certain amount of trust you can extend to the other person, and when they betray that trust you have to back up and take them at face value. In my opinion, only liars can't trust. We are surrounded by narcissistic chimps and always will be. The only way to deal with one is to treat them like a disposible object and move on because there is no cure. A lot of good people can't wrap their head around why some people would stoop so low
@diamonddust22 well said. yep, when anyone spots a narcissist they should immidiately begin to treat them like the narc treats others. they sure wont like that.
@DropDeadCouture I have a brother who is a narcissist, and I have spoken to him in 3 years, not because I don't want to, but because you can't. Slowly you find that person working behind the scenes to assassinate your character, your reputation, and your life to all your friends and family members. Narcissists are so ego driven and deluded that they would fuck your whole life up behind the scenes, and when confronted would act like you are victimizing them with your anger over it.
@diamonddust22 wow, it seems they are just full of envy. apparently they are scared to live as humans with conscience, so they shut off that part of themselves and want to do so to others. since insecurity is the start of narcissism, making their victims insecure would be the first step.
My parents were both narcissists. They didn't give a damn about me. These people do a lot of damage to their children. I'm glad that we know more now about narcissists so we can protect ourselves.
Entertaining and fast moving video that dramatizes what it's like to put up with narcissistic people. I am with some of these people every day. Think I need to learn more about the narcissistic personality. Well Done!
Great book video, dramatic and entertaining, that exposes the narcissists we deal with every day. Based on the video, I'm excited about reading this book.

My parents were both narcissists. They didn't give a damn about me. These people do a lot of damage to their children. I'm glad that we know more now about narcissists so we can protect ourselves.
