i think people don't like the new joker because they comparing him to the famous mark hamill and heath ledger but i like this joker too in fact i like all 3 equally they all have the same attitude and behavoir (with the exception that the heath ledger was more sadistac, planned everything in his plan throughout the movie and he won, more insane, and much more darker) but than again i think his role as the joker was supposed to be something that made people fear him

i think the difference from the dark knight and the animated series is in the movie joker thought out every single plan to the point of almost emptying out gotham and destroy half of it wereas the animated ones took over gotham with what i call "practical jokes gone bad" (such as exploding marbles, laughing gas that would kill someone, guns with the flag "BANG!" that can actually shoot people etc.) but i agree with you
