My Dad, used to be Taj's Tour Manager in the late 60s. (true story) They just connected again after 40 years up at Tahoe. Dad says "The Sons, the Leaves, Arthur Lee/Love - were the incubators of 60s Band Music in LA. Blues, Jazz, R&B, Country, Folk . . . it's all Rock 'n Roll to me. Dad was at the Stones' Rock 'n Roll Circus - in 68.Taj has taught a lot of folks about the music of the world in his time. More of them need to keep listening to Natch'l Order of Music. Nuff said.
The 40th anniversary of Taj moving to the Bay area was celebrated at the Fillmore last fall. I was lucky enough to be there. He did one set with the Phantom Blues Band and the last set with the Taj Mahal Trio.
I had not heard of the trio before, but they were outstanding. Any idea where one can locate more from the trio?
