  • Great MAN right here!

  • chik in California here: I've been doing a bit to study up b/c I was interested & became even more interested when anyone pooh-pooh'd the idea it made me more curious. I figure something has to be up if the reaction was to try & get me to shrug off the interest. I got 2 of the Just A Minute books which was more digestible than a few others. But this is what I want to know, are your cameras altered to compensate for all the brightness up there? It's so intense! Good video btw!

  • @dreaminggirlish I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. It is the same where I am as it is in New York City or Chicago - both of which are only a 9 hour drive away from Toronto, Ontario. Maybe you are talking about northern Canada in the arctic which is thousands of miles from where most of us live.

  • Awesome video my Canadian friend!!! Happy Canada Day from Maxico!!!!

  • I love the trading card idea!

  • im mexican i respect canadians but i dont understand these type of people rascists they hate for no reason

  • I love being Canadian every single heart beat second and every day. Canada is my hometown and always will be. It's funny how some people doesn't knows Canada fought WW1 and lost over 100,000 soldiers. I love our maple leaf and so far I got a collection of 50. 1 of them is like orange bluish strange...

  • @Ridhwanpop Our country is amazing!!!!

  • @Homemadegameguru I know Today in school we had an EXAM of to write good things about Canada the story had to be over 150 words , I did 565 words and I passed it my teacher told me I did well. Happy you are one of the True Canadian.

  • this is awesome. thanks for posting! the cards are a great idea! well made too

  • Nice presentation. While living out in South Korea, I had the privilege to meet and have Canadian friends. It surprised me how similar we are, yet at the same you guys have unique cultural traits that makes Canada a different place to be in. I hope to visit someday.

  • You go guy. Your right. We have so much to be so proud of. It bugs me that we laugh at the Americans for being ignorant, but many Canadians don't know anything about their own history, but know American history. What do you feel about the black issues in the states compared to Canada? Great idea with the Cards. Go Canada.Show our pride!

  • @bodstevens I love my country, but issues of race and identity are still here - we just don't like to talk about them. But by far, Racism is far worse in the U.S. than here. The only advantage of the U.S. is their government is way more representative of minorities - Harper has absolutely none in his cabinet.

Our knowledge of Canadian history is borderline pathetic. I have quizzed people in Ottawa and the responses were horrid. It's sad - we have this amazing country and rich history

  • I mean like any other country canada is not perfect but we can always improve right?.........haha.

-wonder how were going to look in 200 years or so.

  • thanks man,

personally though, as long as canadians know they can be proud, i'm good.

  • proud to be canadian

  • @drfye You pretty much nailed it perfectly in your responses. It is just sad that many of the countries in the world, including our neighbors to the south, just don't get how important Canada is to the world. People have short memories and unfortunately, as I was told by my brother in Miami, they don't teach anything about Canada in their high schools. That's just sad!

  • In 2008, there were 65,567 immigrants in the family class, 21,860 refugees, and 149,072 economic immigrants amongst the 247,243 total immigrants to the canada. Two official languages: English & French-longest coastline in the world.Canada has 34 ethnic groups with at least one hundred thousand members each, of which, 10 have over 1,000,000 people and numerous others represented in smaller amounts.16.2% of the population belonged to visible minorities-same. sex marriage is legal

The trade across Ambassador Bridge between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan alone is equal to all the trade between the United States and Japan. Canada and the United States are currently the world's largest trading partners, share the world's longest unmilitarized border, significant interoperability within the defence sphere.

  • Canada is the USA most important ally. USA left Britian after it became a official country. Hence it didnt get called in under Britian in ww1....

  • Thanks for seeing the bond between our two countries.

  • Thanks for that Homemadegameguru.

  • It is so sad that so many of our American friends just don't get how long Canada has been a close ally of the States. From being one of the first to aid the US in Afghanistan, still to this day, to how Canadians opened their doors to stranded passengers when 9/11 forced planes to land in the Maritimes. Sure, the UK is a partner in Iraq and Afghanistan, but besides that, exactly what else have they done for America verses what has done? Read about the Iranian hostage crisis for goodness sakes

  • FYI, Britain is the USA's closest and most important ally.

  • Ok Im proud to be canadian but ,,why do we have to prove ourselve to the americans ,,all these video about them needing us ,,when they dont carrreee lol

I just want to say to the world canada is safe and cold temperature is good for skin lol

  • (Part 2)

Certainly, from a historical perspective, Canada has a very rich military heritage. Canadian Forces had a major role in World War I and in the Second World War. Canadian Army units landed at Normandy and the Royal Canadian Air Force was in the fight in Europe before the US entered the War. Canadian combat engineers were often regarded to be the best that the allies had on the Western Front. And, of course, Canadian forces fought with UN forces in Korea.

  • That's all good, but realize that there is more than just military aspects to a strong relationship. Economically and mentally, Canadians are more aligned to the US. Go to England and then Canada and see which populous feels closer to the US. Barack Obama honored this close relationship by making Canada his first international trip as president. I'm glad he understands just how important Canada is to the US before, now and in the future.

  • I did not mean to suggest that Canada has not been a participant in recent American-led military interventions. I only meant to say that until the last few years Canada had not made the kind of sustained financial investment in military readiness that Britain had made. Canada has a world class special operations/counter-terrorism unit, Joint Task Force 2 or JTF2. But, Canada has enhanced its conventional forces only recently. Retired General Rick Hillier did much to spur these investments.

  • With respect, I would argue that Canada is our (US) most important trading partner and energy supplier, but is not our best or most intimate ally. Washington and Ottawa are partners in continental defense, but Britain is the most important US ally because of its role in power projection and in helping to advocate US policy positions in Europe. On the military front, Canada's sacrifices in Afghanistan are significant and greatly appreciated, but its committment to military readiness is recent.

  • While you made a very excellent comment and as a Canadian I most humbly appreciate the kind and intelligent word; but I want to point out to you about your statement of our military readiness is only recent.

You must not be aware we have been included in every major war that America has been with the exception of Iraq and Vietnam. Try to look these figures up, I know it can be easily mistaken based on the stereotypes and common misunderstandings between our countries and people.

  • @Quizzle1983 There are actually a couple Canadians in Iraq. But its not publicized because those soldier went on their own free will, not under the direction of the Canadian Forces

  • you want a one on one with the USA? Lets go now see how Canada holds up now. and are you serious, Canada the #1 ally of the US? I will say you are a good friend but I think #1 is a little far fetched.

  • So tell me then, if Canada - the country that still to this day is fighting in Afghanistan after America was attacked; has supported the US in EVERY war except Iraq (which most Americans don't support); and is your top exporter of energy, oil, wood and fresh water - isn't your number 1 ally, who is? Britain? Saudi Arabia? Mexico? The U.S. is running out of real friends and as shown by Obama's move to visit Canada first now that he's president, America needs to remember its real allies.

  • Hey my uncle lives in Messasaga (i probably spelled it wrong lol ) and in my social study classes, we never once learned about canada lol. only mexico south america the u.s , middle east, and russia. not ever once canada lol. also nice vid

  • lol i forgot to add that i was born and raised in Buffalo New York too, and that that was the only thing we learned about Canada in my class lol. its like they want us to dislike you guys. well i think that Canada, Britain, and the U.S are great countries and there are many more. once again nice vid.

  • @M11ty2 Mississauga? Is that what you meant? I live there.

I do find it sad who in Canada, we learn about the USA but in the USA they dont learn about Canada despite how close our countries are.

  • umm excuse me, i think that the war of 1812, the great USA won because of the Battle of New Orleans and Canada did not go head to toe with the US alone, it had the support of Britain (who was also warring with America)

    GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • Yes, Damn us Canadians for having allies. lol. Sorry Listentothefan. That's how the real world works. And sooner or later us North Americans are going to have a real realization of that.

In the future when I'm fighting beside my fellow Americans, whether it be you, or your children. I would be proud to fight with you and hopefully Americans would be proud to fight alongside us aswell.

My point. We are all brothers here between our two great nations. Let's try to remember this.

  • i like it. Your right.

  • "what's even worse is the knowledge Canadians have on their own country"

Excellent observation. IMO, so many Canadians are so afraid or embarrassed of being homers. And it is sad.

  • It is true. When I first started selling my Canada cards in 2004 at parliament hill in Ottawa, most people I spoke to had no idea about the history of Canada, yet were satisfied with their ignorance. This country deserves better than that.

  • It is sad isn't it. We know so much about the U.S, yet they know so little about us. And the funniest thing - many of the northern states get way more snow than us. Compare Buffalo NY in winter and Toronto - no comparison when it comes to snow lol.

  • yea i went to texas and this fat lady didnt believe i brought my summer clothes from toronto, she was convinced that we had -10c all year around.

  • good video sir, and Canda owns.

  • *Canada

  • no terry fox : ( hes the greatest man to ever live....very well done : )

  • I do have a Terry Fox card there in the set. Can't forget a legend like that.

  • Very well done
