@brittany2074 well AFI is not emo... emo is more or less my chemical romance, or broken cyde or w/e that band is, AFI has had a tendency to be lyricaly dark. yes some songs like i wanna get a mohawk, and highschool football hero are epic punk, they were not going to stay teenagers forever. and to call their new stuff bad is not an intelligent move, if you listen to sacrilege it is written very well, lyrically and musically. so just don't go hating.

i remember hearing afi black sails in the sunset.. and going man this is sweet shit.. at the time i was listening to nirvana as well..
then after sing the sorrow i looked back and found all their old stuff and was amazed, and i have to say that i dont disagree with new album.. its not my type and doesnt fit my attitude :P
when they made this song I listened to it for like a week straight non stop It was basically my first hardcore song.I like their new stuff and relize that bands have to change in time but come on they are completely diff now I think mainstream has a huge part in it cuz listen to cruise control,file 13,today's lesson,let it be broke, coin return the list goes on and listen to their new stuff the new is not their style thats why they made more of the old cuz they enjoyed it more
i disagree, but i respect your opinion. i'm an obscure afi fan in that i like every album they've ever done. hell, i like every SONG they've ever done. the thing is that i'm more of a punk guy, so when i look at AFI i see a decline in quality of the sound but a huge increase in the quality of the music and arrangements and whatnot. so it's a conflicting thing for me.
I'm like you in that I love every song they've done. But to be fair they're lyrics have greatly improved. I say improved- differed. I suppose thats a big part of why I love them so much.
Whats really weird about AFI is they have changed a hell of a lot but for me, they completely fit their sound.
Old AFI though, something I'll never find again. This song is amazing

yeah, this is a filth cover. they did a great job covering it though.
afi is one of my favorite bands, and todays lesson by filth is one of my favorite songs, so for me this is a very win win situation.
they also do a great cover of halloween and last caress by the misfits.

Very well-put. I enjoy their angrier hardcore songs more, but they have grown musically in recent years and that's cool, too.
