I used to watch this show when it first aired. Only 8 episodes but it was great. The guy slept in a box! Tivo it because they re-run it every so often.

in the first episode, jim looked downright evil especially since it was two hours of him manipulating, bribing, blackmailing, and murdering people like richard iii. as the show progressed, there were so many shady characters in g&g, jim just started looking like a slicker, better version of them. enron, worldcom, and bernie madoff may make headlines but profit never will.

yea, all true, but i think it was starting to pick up sort of a cult following just as they cancelled it, but i could be wrong. sometimes other decent shows like the simpsons can get by even right-wing nuts :)

Profit is available on DVD, including the unaired episodes. I found a set at Barnes and Noble, so it should also be available at Amazon.

The show failed because it was about ten years ahead of its time. Some shows aren't appreciated until it's too late. Sadly, there was no groundswell of support to save it a la Jericho. It reached mostly a niche audience.

I loved this show!! I remember when it came on...I was about 15 or so, and I had to convince my parents that is was a psychological and smart show. If they had have watched it a bit closer, I think they would have told me to get my butt in bed..LOL! I have the whole season on DVD, the ones they didn't air in the US...dang FOX!

Why this show was not successfull I'll never know. This show is one of my all time favourites. Theres all manner of obscure rubbish released on DVD these days-why not this top show?

It is out on DVD, in North America, through Anchor Bay, the picture quality is pretty bad, its not remastered or anything, and there is only like seven episodes, but its on my DVD shelf and I'm loving it.

Damn. I envy you. But now Adrian Pasdar is in the new top show -Heroes, maybe that will be used as an excuse to release and tag Profit to the success of Heroes. By release I mean general release. I've got a few episodes including the finale on VHS.

David Greenwalt has said that if the Profit had lasted, eventually he would have got rid of all of his enemies at Gracen&Gracen, and would have moved on to politics. Profit, the politician - can you imagine??? Every time I watch Hereos I feel they are underusing Adrian Pasdar, especially with that little tid-bit.
