"Restored By Makela Auto Tuning "
Um, I wouldnt exactly say that this is a RESTORATION, a restoration means restoring it back to it's LIKE NEW ORIGINAL condition, obviously changing the engine and wheels out to a different kind eliminates the "original configuration". Sad to see an antique ruined by inappropriate "restorations" that are more clearly just a new build
BTW, those wheels? They aren't wooden! They're billet Aluminum craftily painted to look like wood.
This, my friends, is the sleeper to end all sleepers and there aren't many cars I would take over this... Certainly none I wouldn't have to take a long deep consideration before picking them over this one.
@greeptown This is real dude, go to the site, the engine is modified with a fuel injection kit and is beefed up to put out more hp. If that's not enough it has an actual transmission instead of the original open clutch design.
@greeptown If you knew just what kind of motor that is and just what they did to the chassis (hint, nothing's original of the suspension), you'd realize that the video is real. It really is that fast. BTW, they have a switch on the panel that makes the engine miss, faking an old engine sound. Flip that switch to normal when some wingnut in a GTI or big wing Civic thinks he's going to pass you :-)
@TheSupervincent Click the link in the description. The engine's not the only thing that got "the treatment." It all blends into classic but classic it's not. Frame, Suspenders, Motor, etc. are all modified or replaced with modern parts.
ford has delt with cosworth through out the years in fact they make hi-po focus and fiesta engines now, so i dont think putting one in a model A is "blashphemy" however i do think putting a 350 small block chevy in one is like digging up Henry ford and kicking him in the balls but most people are ok with that??? this car is awsome
@brianszoo I agree completely!!! Looks like a nice car but they wrecked it by changing the engine so drastically! If I get a chance I want to restore a 37 Ford Pickup completely factory including the 6 volt electrical system and the cable/rod brake system, no 12volt and no hydraulic brakes -- exactly the way it came from Ford in 1937!!! Anyone can customize but you rarely see a restoration that is completely factory correct.
a classic 1929 Ford Model A with a 1970s Cosworth engine. Whats next, putting a original Model A engine in a 2010 Ferrari? That too will sound silly. Image and sound mismatch.
@pnyk They obviously have never seen a Ford Cosworth BDA engine and have no clue what they;re on about. I once owned a ford Escort MKII with a 2.0 BDA, what a car.
OMG if people would look at the pictures instead of putting stupid comments they would understand the work that went into this machine! awesome work guys!! this thing is sweet!
WOW I just looked at the link its pics of the build if you have time its a must look. Any questions you might have about the car will be answered thru the link and I must say to the men who rebuild this crazy car, BRAVO! Such a beautiful car, I would pay big bucks to drive this car for an hour. Oh the wooden wheels are not wood. A+
@zoneracer Hondas have a more hollow sound than this engine. If anything, it sounds like the 4AG 16v, seeing as the 4AG was basically a copy of the Cosworth BDA
I saw this car in Hot Rod magazine. That model A has a full race Cosworth engine making 250 hp that is disguized as a vintage Ford engine. Its a wolf in sheeps clothing. You would never suspect that its a racecar.
damn i want that car more then any other car out there.not only does it have the looks and all the power your ever need it goes around corners like its on rails.this video is fucking epic and i love the car holy crap i just came :)

I once did 17.5 seconds at a 1/4 mile drag strip in a '29 Model A coupe. twin single carbs and split ex manifold. About 5 seconds faster that stock. Wasn't mine, and the first time I ever drove it.
