I'm pretty sure this is the "Greatest Hits" version. The original version was for Apple Records who owns the recording. They refused to allow the recording for James Taylor's "Greatest Hits" album, which was issued by Warner Brothers. So Taylor went in the studio and re-recorded it. In effect he "covered" his own song! On the original, the vocal is in a higher key and faster, either due to faulty recording or because Taylor was in his early 20's at the time.
This reminds me of summer past when I was just a little kid. My dad would put this James Taylor album on, we'd have some friends over to swim, cook ribs on the grill, fireworks on the driveway. I can to know and love JT. The past couple years have been difficult for my family and we haven't had those summer night parties for a long time. For Christmas this past year, we gave my dad and mom tickets to one of the concerts. They literally had tears in their eyes. Thank you James.

I'm pretty sure this is the "Greatest Hits" version. The original version was for Apple Records who owns the recording. They refused to allow the recording for James Taylor's "Greatest Hits" album, which was issued by Warner Brothers. So Taylor went in the studio and re-recorded it. In effect he "covered" his own song! On the original, the vocal is in a higher key and faster, either due to faulty recording or because Taylor was in his early 20's at the time.

This reminds me of summer past when I was just a little kid. My dad would put this James Taylor album on, we'd have some friends over to swim, cook ribs on the grill, fireworks on the driveway. I can to know and love JT. The past couple years have been difficult for my family and we haven't had those summer night parties for a long time. For Christmas this past year, we gave my dad and mom tickets to one of the concerts. They literally had tears in their eyes. Thank you James.
