Theres nothing wrong with crank nosebands if the 2 finger rule can be applied, but the modern tendency is to overtighten them to cover poor training methods. Over tightening restricts jaw and tongue movements and causes bruising, tongue biting and stress amongst other things. It prevents displaying 'evasions' eg opening the mouth, putting the tongue out , these are signs of incorrect training and are not solved by tightly strapping the horses mouth shut. Lots of info on internet about misuse!

Awesome!! So lovely to watch you warming up like this...what a lovely picture!! Could watch it over and over!! So nice to see horses like yours and Carl's not pulled BTV and even slightly above the vertical!! Its a very refreshing change to what you often see in the warm up area. Fantastic!!
