warcraft 3 - how to change your unit to a hero

I thought this was like how to convert a unit into a hero, not create a new hero entirely, also it should be fairly obvious how to do this when you know what the various buttons do, self teaching is quite easy. but this is probably for people who have never actually opened the object editor so...

To everyone complaining that he's "making a hero into a unit". No, he didn't. You can just copy the hero and give it the model of your desired unit. Also, THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT.

there is real function that can change units in heros look at the gameplay constants somewhere must be a list with all basic heroes. then you put in a soldier. thats it soldier is now a new hero^^

@kelek1337 That function will make you unable to train a hero if you trains that soldier. It will make the unit you add count as a hero, not turn it into a hero.

For example... If you add Footman to the list, build a barrack and train a Footman. Then after you build an Altar you can't train a hero because the Footman is occupying a free hero slot

you need to click the hero then u see a whole list of weird numbers and stuff to your right. scroll down until you see voice or sound, double click it and chose the unit's voice u want to put in there

I hate guys like ChemRose who think their pro because they know something other people don't.

Some people are knew to mapping and you shouldn't discourage noobs, without them warcraft 3 would probably die, and if you comment about the title and not the video you have some problems. Especially since the title is technically right, its a unit with hero abilities, attributes, and levels.

you have to go into advanced and then go into gameplay constants. tick use custom constants then find hero max level, im pretty sure you can take it from there.
