I grew up hearing Elvis songs every single day, my brother idolized him. Woke in the morning listening to him, came home from school and more of the same. In those days, it was just gorgeous to be growing up. I got sick of hearing him sometimes back then, but now, with both my brother and Elvis gone, I love that I can sing along to any of his songs and remember them both. I love you Donny and Elvis,
@johnmorris008 The song was put on "gold #5" because it was on the album "Almost In Love" which was certified gold. As far as the meaning, seems to me it's about a girl driving him crazy. Ethereal themed due to the colorful era in which it was recorded. And as far as a "bad song" is concerned, completely a matter of opinion. I loved the song and the movie was one of the funniest he ever made. Not knocking YOU personally. Just giving you my angle. You can take it or leave it.
I liked Live A Little, Love A Little. Edge of Reality was my favorite song in the movie. Too bad A Little Less Conversation became a huge hit years later and Edge of Reality was forgotten.
Great song and hot performance from Elvis. Thanks for uploading this Jackie. It's one of my top five favourite songs of his. I am awaiting the DVD of this as I write! :) Love and hugs to you.
Man - those horns and drums! Not to mention E's voice. This should have been a James Bond movie theme, back in the day when James Bond movie themes were actually good.
thanks for posting this tune..one of ELVIS' best sessions .. recording under direction of Billy Strange ,imho Billy worked ELVIS hard on this session ,but brought the best out in ELVIS' voice ..recorded at Western recorders on sunset blvd in Hollywood ,same studio the Beach boys recorded at
It is available on Almost in Love, Out in Hollywood, Artist of the Century, Command Performances-The Essential 60s Masters, and the Live a Little, Love a Little/The Trouble With Girls/Change of Habit soundtrack compilation, which is where this version is from.
Written by Bill Giant, Bernie Baum and Florence Kaye. Elvis recorded it March 7, 1968 at Western Recorders in Hollywood. It was featured in the film Live a Little, Love a Little. It was the B-side to If I Can Dream. The single did not chart.
I've always liked and enjoyed this song. As you know, it's from my 6th most favorite Elvis movie "Live A Little, Love A Little". I'm so very glad that Michele Carey was Elvis' leading lady in this motion picture. Michele Carey was a child prodigy at the piano and later a top Powers model before turning to acting. This 1968 movie is so very fun, enjoyable and entertaining. Michele's performance was absolutely marvelous. This video was absolutely perfect in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.

johnmorris008. This song is proof positive that a great singer can not save
a bad song. I have no idea what the song is about or why RCA put it on
Elvis Gold Records Vol 5. The song didn't even chart. (No kiddin')
I'm not knocking Elvis, I'm a fifty year fan. Thank you.
I'm a hugh fan. But this song is awful. Thank you.

@johnmorris008 He wasn't trying to save the song, he had to sing it because of the fact it was part of the movie. But I get what you mean:)
