the fuel tank was about 60% gasoline, 40% water, and I don't think the previous owner knew that... I think he flooded it so badly while trying to start it, the water/gasoline mix stayed in the cylinders after he gave up on it.
either way, I've put about 8 tanks of gas threw it this summer and it is ran perfectly... until a spark plug wire broke :p When someone changed the coils and wires, they didn't leave enough slack in one of the wires, so it stretched and eventually broke at WOT.
you wouldnt happen to know how to remove the powerhead?

Good good, so long as the head gasket is good you should be ok with that motor, they wind up pretty good but I think the 9.9 is better, I own both.

Water in the lower cyclinder isn't normal, sure you don't have a head gasket problem
