  • I think the reason this may have been flagged was because a man was killed in the explosion.

  • GEEZZUUS

  • i seen that right ther

  • WHO FLAGGED THIS!?!?!?

  • I can't believe this only has 22K views. I can't believe that happened close to where I used to work. Phew!

  • i thought my friends fat ass brother fell off his bed when i felt and heard the shockwave

  • number one word in propane tank fires: HOLY SHIT

  • Why would this video be flagged?

  • Hey, next time Tacoma is going to have an explosion, I hope someone is thoughtful enough to send out invitations to the event.

I want to have a big laugh too!

Oh yeah and, "RyverMystDragon" is an incurable ASSHOLE and there is no hope of this moron's recovery...... We should all help this idiot put his head back up inside his ass..... where it belongs.

  • Jesus Christ!!! This should be on Spike's Most Amazing Videos!

  • These clowns are total fuckin' ass wipes!

Did it ever occur to them that people may be in need of serious help and first aid? Maybe even offer up some assistance to people trying to escape the blast.

    Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, what fucking morons!

  • Hey ASSHOLE, How could they go and help when at the time, the fire department IMMEDIATELY closed off the roads. I was in the area the day it happened, and the employees of that building were telling people to GET AWAY. That's a Propane tank on fire and it could have killed more people if they went running in.

  • I agree! These clowns are total fucking morons. Reminds me of Keystone cops! Idiots and ASSHOLES, every one of them! And so is RyverMystDragon. This fucking brain dead clown is the biggest loser ASSHOLE of them all!

  • Where are the FOAM trucks when you need them...

  • These are the people we hope our daughters don't ever meet!

  • Um ya, so possible death is funny?

  • yeah, it's not at all. I live up the block from that and it popped our living room window almost completely out. that shit was fucking terrifying and we weren't allowed to be home for over a day.

  • one person died

  • my xbox flatlined because of the shack wave!!!!

  • Hahahahahahaahahahhhahaaaaaaaaaa

  • I am still trying to figure out what these dumb ass people are laughing at.Brain Dead people

  • sometimes people laugh when they're scared, in awe, or nervous.

  • in this case they are stupid

  • vous etes vraiment des abrutis

    vous rigolez de ça

    vous etes cons

  • While I agree partly with Coinworks in that we Americans love big, dramatic explosions, whatever the consequences (at times) I also agree with Gamerhelmet: The assumption is that, as soon as the foundry's workers saw a propane tanker on fire, they all beat feet. People HOPE everyone got out alive - thus, until they know otherwise, they'll think as such.

  • i live in ellensburg now but i used to drive out there to get up to hilltop when i was avoiding traffic and that is just nuts.

  • I work for Atlas, two of my buddies were hurt when that truck blew, and a man was killed. I would like to FUCKING CHOKE THE BASTARDS CHEERING IN THE BACKGROUND......

  • I do agree the cheering was not appropriate under the circumstances.

  • i saw it from the highway on the left it was huge

  • Well, what the fuck were your buddies doing at the crash?

  • i live in WA no one died. i KNOW. my friend works there. he was in there when it happened. 3 guys were injured though

  • the driver died 3 weeks after from burns...

  • oh, i thought they meant during the explosion

  • That's a big boom alright! The laughing and whooping, is, I believe, the same sort of thing american troops did whilst videotaping explosions that destroyed mosques and schools. The same thing from the torturers at Guantanamo. I bet Bush let out a similar whoop when the towers were detonated. Come on America, you know you love big, violent bangs, whether you laugh or cry, most of you are still enjoying being caught up in the drama.

  • i don't think that they knew anyone was in harm's way at that point

  • Wow I can't belive a guy died fro those 2 blasts

  • its not the shock that someone died its the shock that no one else did!

  • actually the driver of the truck died

  • yeah 3 weeks after from his bad burns.

  • seriously if you see something like that burning why go near it? if you go near it thats your choice and own fault! they werent laughing at the idea someone could be hurt.. id be geeking out too

  • hey people. no one died.

  • the trucker did die about a week later

  • Were you laughing from hysteria or because it was a cool explosion...?

  • freakin assholes. they laughed all way through

i don't think anyone else is laughing.

    ...assholes

  • OK Folks, get real. These people were several hundred yards away. They could not know anyone was near enough to get hurt. When you have a big fire around a propane truck, well, you have to expect a BLEVE. They probably figured everyone was well back. When did the driver get hurt anyway? First thing or during the explosion? I don't know. Anyone?

  • I am pissed that people are laughing, too.

A friend of mine works there...

  • Wow at the end they say "Youtube that shit"

  • one man died i beleive

  • i think that dude was laughing bcuz he just saw that happen and filmed it, not bcuz someone dies or mighta died or anything it was like adrenilyn people so damn critical these days people need to chill out

  • u feel me? it wasnt like they were laughing the whole time like ha ha people might be getting hurt, that huge ass explosion out of no where freaked them out, SO Chill out for ur ass gets hit by shrapnel

  • why didnt he record it closer ? so he can laugh while hes dead togheter with other people ?

  • unbelieveble how stupid these guys are! a bunch of jerks... how can somebody laughs and make fun about it ? idiots... all of them

  • It just makes me sad that these people laughed at this... I was in Federal Way area and felt it . When I got home and heard about it i wanted to cry. It's very sad. I would hope that people would have a better regard for human life.

  • laughing like a bunch of idiots.... people were hurt!

  • I live right down the road from there, to bad I was in seattle at the time XD DAMN!

  • I heard the explosion in Lacey,Washington where i live i thought it was just Fort Lewis doing artillery practice agiain.

  • This occured due to a failed connection to a delivery truck that resulted in a large propane release. The initial explosion was the vapor cloud lighting off, the big explosion was the delivery truck experiencing a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion). I also work for the Tacoma Fire Dept. but was off duty that day.

  • I can assure you that if the large storage tanks at Atlas had exploded, the people filming this would not have been laughing. I have seen the security video from the Atlas company.

  • I live in Bonney Lake... Near Tacoma... And I heard a boom! I was like... HOLY SNAP!

  • PANKED!!!!!

  • haha that was bad!

  • that was a huge explosion, I was trolling south tacoma way for hookers when it happened and a honey-baked ham landed on my car.

  • that's funnier than my comment. lol

  • continuing to cover it up I see? Go back and read your comment; this guy was TRYING to be funny. You were not. And then here you are, trying to cover it up again. F*ck dude, you're ridiculous!

  • From that distance they felt it ! I've delivered propane by truck. The fire dept did the right thing, there is no putting it out at that point! It could have been worse.

  • When you asked where the fire truck went @ about 3:50, you realize that they were waiting untill the explosion @ 4:15.

You also need to realize that firefighters are NOT STUPID. I'll just leave it at that.

  • I am glad the audio was left on, it did capture what was going on accurately. But take a hint from the pros & be "professional" and leave the immature giggles and stupid B&B comments out and just report what what you see and the video would have been more powerful yet. It is a great video though in all.

  • What a bunch of retards. Cheering while some people were killed. These little bastards would not be cheering if they were in there. Absolute Shame

  • Yeah, the cheering at the end just shows how little they don't "get it". Nobody killed, but the driver may die. He is in very bad shape.

  • No one was killed.

  • I agree. Nobody died but the driver is 64 years old and remains in critical condition. The cause was a leak in the propane truck's hose. Bloody shame these people are CHEERING as if it were a fireworks display! :( Shameful.

  • Sorry... but you dont know do you? ... -_ it wasn't a Propane Truck... It was a Atlas... a Company... It had Propane and for some reason it sparked, leaked, then BOOM!

  • Hmmm. King 5 news has been reporting otherwise. Yesterday they reported that the driver was filling one of the tanks, and that a hose from the truck was the culprit of the explosion. That the gas formed a cloud as it leaked from the hose, and they suspect that a nearby heat source caused that cloud to ignite. A 2-axle portion of the tanker blew 150' into the air and landed Hwy. 16, still blazing. I just hope the poor driver pulls through this! :(

  • Sorry, but it was a propane transport belonging to IXL that blew. The two storage tanks at Atlas are still there.

  • it was a propane truck.

  • Idiots, how can you cheer for something like that? Are they completely brain dead? I hate morons like them.

  • not once in the video did i hear if the photographer or his pals sound concerened for anyone other than themselves and thier enjoyment. All they could focus on was how cool this would be on YouTube. Sad.

  • I was thinking how could they be laughing when firefighters were going in and could have been killed in that big blast had the timing been worse. Thank god more were not killed; even those who were on highway 16 and I5 could have been hurt had the axel or something big like it hit a car just right. Nothing funny about people in danger or getting hurt.

  • i thought they were gonna throw me onto the dairy cabinet!

  • i felt that shit at my house in browns point, it was fuckin crazy loud

  • my husband works there and he was THERE

its not in the least bit funny it was the scariest time of my life not knowing if he was okay or not

and knowing what i know about atlas we can all thank God that it wasnt worse or that the full crew wanst working

the tragedy would have been ten times worse

    shame on you for laughing

and if your laughing was in reaction to the shock of seeing the blast then you should have at least made some comment about the workers who were there

  • jhgjgj

  • The cheering is NOT cuz they're glad to be alive...it's cuz they're fucking retards! God I hate useless people.

  • You guys are idiots, they know that nobody is in there, they were filming for 5 minutes, imagine how long it was going before they picked up the camera. And do you hear how loud that is, if there was anyone in there they were asking for it man. They were laughing cause of the adrenalin.

  • i agree. if someone was stuck there and couldnt escape, there's not much, if any at all that could be done for them. i doubt there was anyone there

  • No, they didn't know who all was there. Also, hear those sirens of the 1st responders. Those firefighters that rushed in first could have bought the farm. At first I thought they were laughing because they were nervous and wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt. They did not make the connection that the fire was a dangerous sit. getting worse by the sec.; and that someone could be there dead, or dying. Sadly the truck driver who remains crit. was there in that fire.

  • i was driving by the tacoma dome and it blew up and shattered my car windows/wind-sheild

  • oh shut it, it did not. There were people closer to it than you and they did not have any broken windshields. Your crappy windshields was probably already hanging half way off and out when that propane tank went off.

  • What a bunch of idiots standing there cheering of a accident like that.. idiots, pure and simple

  • true,

and I think they almost pissed themselves.

The cheering is because they are glad to still be alive, and mastering the situation. (trying to not make themselves look scared)

But it sureley is a big boom! nice vid :P

  • How come I didn't see this on the news? o.O

  • Badass shot guys! Thanks for posting! Glad everyone's safe:)

  • I was in Chahalis having a beer and the sky lit up and I felt the explosion to the point I was knocked right off my bar stool. Then I even felt hot. My wife said she felt it too so we went home and had some yum yum

  • Dont taze me bro!

  • lol that's good

  • Dang thats a big explosion. I can't believe no one died.

  • they had better cut the first 4 minits out, but i love the reaction after the explosoin^^

  • we were driving to pt defience when this happened. Had we taken the normal route (up 16 to pearl) we would have been right next to it. Also, there is no way a piece of the truck landed 60 FKN miles away in paulsbo

  • that explosion was sik as fuk i watch it over and over and over , awesome recording guys , holy shit lmao

  • dude, you're a freakin' RETARD!!! If you lived in Poulsbo, you COULDN'T have felt it. Hell, I live in Downtown Tacoma and I didn't feel it!

    so...remove head from ass...NOW!!!

  • You are...

  • haha, thanks. exactly.

  • just like 'groupsex07' said: 'you are...' couldn't have said it better myself, as you STILL are. deal with it.

  • (continued)...But, for someone living nearly FIFTY miles away to try and chime in saying "I felt it and a piece of the truck landed in my front yard"? Well, I'm sorry, but I just HAVE to call Bullshit. Sorry if you disagree.

  • sorry if you disagree with me but if they felt it they felt it

  • I don't disagree with you, I disagree with 'washitboy' over there.

  • look at THIS guy's post: "We live just over 4 miles away in University Place, WA, and we heard the explosion here at home - no windows or doors open. The rear axles of the 8000 gallon propane delivery truck ended up on the Hwy 16 overpass nearly 2 blocks away." Looks like they made a pretty big deal about the tire going as far as it did (and for good reason, as that IS a pretty good distance)..but c'mon...Poulsbo?

  • yeah, isn't that like fifty miles away or something? didn't the news say that the majority of the truck landed on SR16? Poulsbo is nowhere near SR16, last time i checked. hell, i'm with ya dude.

  • THANK YOU! That's all I'm tryin' to say. This tinkwink says that "if they felt it they felt it". Well, I'm sorry but honestly, if you want to have that kind of attitude where just because someone says something, everyone then has to believe it...well, then I'm Jesus Christ's second coming! There, do you think tinkwink will believe me there? I hope not. But hey, If I said it, it must be so, apparently.

  • hmmm, for some reason the first part of my message didn't show up...so, here it is:

Sorry if you found me rude. Maybe I was a bit rude, but the reports said that the majority of the truck landed on HWY 16. The furthest away I know of 'homes shaking' is in Kent and Renton, which is about twenty miles away...

  • i can't believe my post (trying to be funny) was taken so absolutely seriously by some people. as a poulsbo city official, i must send my condolences and sincerest apologies to you and any individual affected by this serious event. i also apologize to my dog, sparky, for leaving him in the front yard to be taken out by a flying spark plug (how ironic) from the truck. r.i.p. sparky... r.i.p.

  • dude, don't deny it, you were full of shit(thus your name) from the start, but, you weren't "intending" to "be funny", you're simply covering your tracks, as you were called on it.

  • wow, retard? reread his 1st reply, and his newest one. He was full of shit from the start and he knows it. YOU are the retard for believing him. arrogance: the end of america's youth.

  • That happened on my street just one block down.

My boyfriend watched it happen and it was fucking terrifying. The window in our living room almost crashed to the ground and we had to evacuate our block.

    thankfully no one died!!

  • thats so bad ass

  • Pretty damned sadistic to be laughing your sorry ass off about it.

  • Lol, I live in Seattle...I didn't feel it all the way u here, but it smelt like someone hit a giant skunk in the road.

  • I live in north tacoma, I heard it but it wasn't that bad... must be the geography

  • I live on South Hill in Puyallup and even MY house shook quite a bit from the blast. Unbelievable!

  • why have you been flagged????Thanks for sharing with us.

  • I live in Federal Way, and the lights flickered. I thought that was a bit odd. Then approx. 30 seconds later the entire build shook. I thought it was an earthquake at first but it ended really quick. It was massive!

  • man i was near the south hill mall and heard this VERY clearly, like it happened only a mile away. i also don't appreciate the people in the vid, but it is amazing to see the explosion from this vantage point.

have some fuckin sentimentality guys, the point people above me were trying to make is that someone, or many people, could have died! But i have to agree, it is a "holy-shit" factor event!

  • I used to go to school on 34th & M, a few blocks away. Yet another reason I'm happy that I got the hell out of Tacoma :)

  • I work there and I will say that if I had been anywere near these guys laughing and hollering I would have kicked someones ass.I have a lot of friends at atlas and know a lot of the people that were working in that section and they could have been killed. These guys party on.Sick society!

  • I was on the second in fire engine, we were rollin' down Sprague Ave when the big explosion went.....close.......I think I said a few similar words, without the laughter. We got two lines on the big tanks to cool them and rescued the driver through a hole we cut in the chainlink fence. Then we evacuated to reassess our tactics. Good video

  • THANKS GUYS........GREAT JOB

  • Heh. Camera guy and his friends sound drunk.

  • iam surpirsd i didnt here that shit cuz i live in fed way damn i wish i was there

  • dope. enough with all this politically correctness crap. if that's how these kids react that's how they react. there is no reason to hold your natural reactions back just because some youtube viewer might not like it. it's a visual specatacle that they will never witness again, let them enjoy it. no one died, and even if they did if these kids started crying on camera it wasn't going to bring them back.

  • simply put, it's a sad day when people in this society react to a disaster as if they were watching a movie rather than viewing it in real life. this has nothing to do with being "politically correct", it's about being a decent human being and considering things that go beyond your immediate enjoyment.

  • wow, even left a mushroom cloud

  • I live in Renton and heard this shit! My lights flickered and didn't know what it was. My place is miles from the site. I hope everyone was ok. Great footage without the valley duuuuude talk and the laughing. That was totally immature for something so serious. That part was rather disgusting and you sound like fucking idots! If that blast would have been any bigger... yall would have really been gettin way down in Tacoma .... more like 6 ft under.

  • The most chilling part of this video is the giggling of the photographer. At this point he doesn't know if anyone is hurt or dead and he certainly doesn't care. (Not to mention all the people who just lost their jobs.)

All he can do is giggle and drop the f-bomb. For his sake I hope he's 14 because he acts like it.

  • God bless the efforts of the emergency crews onsite. That was INTENSE! well not real intense......but pretty intense.

I hope that 60 year old truck driver lives through his injuries and is okay to go home to his anxious family. Thoughts are with you from Salt Spring Island BC Canada

  • Yes, It was REAL intense

  • we were about 20-30 feet at the school buses was so hot that we could feel it through closed windows when the huge explosion happend the firefighters were knocked down like bowling pins it picked up the blazer we were in and dropped it back down. then the fire fighters ran to the truck and told ev1 they must evacuate

  • WOA.... I DIDN'T KNOW THAT...

  • Nope, sorry, you're wrong. I was with the first in engine company, too, and we were miraculously shielded because the tanker was slightly below grade, about 10 feet lower than street level. So the three of us that were closest--about 500 feet away--barely felt it--honestly. So no, we did NOT get knocked down--even though we were pretty sure we were going to die that day! So no more exaggerating--it was bad enough without it! :)

  • Well you're stupid then... you need to watch the news more instead of relying on hearsay. 4 people were injured including the driver of the truck. He is in critical condition.

  • Actually, nobody died. Four people were injured, one critically, the others were treated and released. Read the newspaper before you go calling people pricks.

  • Show some goddamn respect assholes. Someone died in that explosion and your whooping and cheering.

    Pricks.

  • I live right off of 19th and Wilkenson, about a half mile up the hill from Atlas---it felt like a fucking bomb went off. The first explosion felt like an earthquake, and the power shut off for a minute....unbelieveable!

It was MASSIVE!! Hope all the guys who were injured are okay....:(

  • I was on the first-in fire engine and this video is the best representation I have seen of what it was really like. Good job! I heard someone on the video state "where'd the f**** fire truck go?" Well..I think the video answers that question!

  • I was just up the street on STW. I saw those firefighters going streight into that fire. When the "big explosion" happened, I felt for you guys. I am so glad your okay.

It's one thing to laugh about it when your at a safe distance. It's another when your right there. Good job TFD. Your training paid off.

  • good job with the video, i live over off of 38th it almost blew out the windows on our house. send your video to "most amazing videos" on spike, they pay for this stuff.

  • I work near the mall, and the blast literally blew the front door off its track.

  • If you just want to see the explosion, fast forward to 4:10 in the video and just watch.

  • We live just over 4 miles away in University Place, WA, and we heard the explosion here at home - no windows or doors open. The rear axles of the 8000 gallon propane delivery truck ended up on the Hwy 16 overpass nearly 2 blocks away.

  • holy shit!

  • I was 8 blocks away from that at 38th ave When it blew.. That was one Hell of a Explosion..
