  • Сколько масла они в солярку льют? Этож пиздец какой то! Танк еле едет по прямой! Только Русские могут нормально на собственных танках ездить :)

  • Don't USA have a bunch of tanks left over from other wars ? If so couldn't they give them to the ANA..?

  • Oh, i got it: the smoke is a defense against laser-guided missile and used for cover as well.Very clever.

  • I should have said "world wide... in terms of numbers". Not that the Taliban had T54/55.... or indeed anything apart from IEDs RPGs and wishful thinking

  • really, in terms of numbers the tank the T62 is most likely to face is a T54/55. These guys were meant to be cheap and simple to maintain. Of course they would probably crap themselves if they saw a NATO tank but really... how likely are the Taliban to have a Challenger or Abrams? :-))))

  • @FrancoHitlini well the abrams and the challenger are the worlds top 2 tanks but they are both expensive , and plus there harder to maintain , and on the side not afghan isnt built for tanks , its more likley foot or light vehicles like the btr and stuff

  • @cammander263 I was being slighly sardonic about tanks. In a wider discussion about Afghanistan the place is very much sniper country. Much of it is mountainous, rugged and not at all good country even for wheeled vehicles. If you're road bound you are so open to landmines and ambushes and the rocky nature of the offroad terrain is not good for vehicle maintenance. Idealy you would use more helicopters but that is a matter for government financing.

  • nice 1

  • Smokes a little. Sorta like a Pinto with a fouled plug.

  • OMG 40-50 years old tanks and still working in dust and dirt without any serious and professional service ... my respect to such reliable vehicles...

  • @kaplich the t-62 and 64 are much better at working in the mountain than the T-72 .

  • Tanks that the soviets left eh?

  • @Failcard no actually the russians did sell alot of t55s and t62s to the afgans from the 60s to late 70s right before they invaded

  • @packr72 Well, they weren't really fighting Afghanistan's government, because that turned Communist. They were there to beat the Mujaheddin into submission.

So yea, I guess these were probably sold. But I'm sure that when the soviets ditched they couldn't afford, or just didn't feel like, taking some of the weapons (Sams/tanks/aircraft-Guns, RPGs, etc) just because it'd make them stay longer then what they wanted to.

  • @Failcard theirs huge numbers of old soviet shit still in junkyards in afganistan too

  • Cuba made the same modernization but they look better this afgan tanks look outdated...

  • What a hunk of crap

  • check out these awesome photos of the war in Afghanistan

    visit w w w . b y r o n k i r k . c o m

  • These tanks kill enemy with carbon dioxide.

  • should it be putting out that much black smoke?

  • lol nice smokescreen

  • A tank is only as good as the crew regardless. T62 with a good crew is a good tank!

  • @Redcoat66

not if the other side's tanks can shoot them before they even spot them with their primitive WW2 optics. if you think a t-34 with a "good" crew could defeat a novice abrams crew that at least knows how to use the tank's optics, then you're DEAD wrong.

  • I think they need to check the oil again

  • haha, they don't need to shoot smoke, the engine does it for them.

  • a rpg-7 would cut through that thing like a hot knife through butter

  • shit no wonder why of the world warming lol alot of contamination for a minute i thoug that this guy was fumigating jajajaja

  • at 1:10 it looks like they have the smoke screen turned on (all russian tanks can inject fuel into the exhaust to lay down a smoke screen) also just for all the tards who are leaveing dumbass coments unlike american gear where we just use a M folowed by a randome number russian nomeclatures actualy meen somthing for tanks the T=Tank the number equals the year it was adopted (starting with the T-55 in 1955) so this tells you that the T-62 was adopted in 1962

  • Bad injector set up......

  • I think they should refurbish these tanks with composite armor, new 115mm gun, new fire controls , new engine and transmission.

    1. germany develope the 115mm gun.

    2. UK develope the new composite armor.

    3. US develope fire control and electronics.

    4. And someone develope a new engine and transmission.

  • This is a decent tank. And by decent, I mean decent for dealing with infantry. A T-62 is a tank you die in when fighting other tanks.

  • Hhahahah whoooaaa look at the shit coming out of the back, these things are gona fuck up the taliban!

  • T62 was one hell of a tank back inthe 50's ... and it still has a great fire power, the hull i th biggest problem for the nowadays technology, but still, without any fit equipment, you can't really blow a hole into that thing

  • @Antiteshmis the soviets did not put this tank into service before 1965...

the 115 mm gun's HEAT rounds are perfect for use against bunkers and other static targets

  • @roknikov Yeah it can fire HE-FRAG too which would be very effective against taliban in compounds and taliban mortar teams

  • @Antiteshmis the T-62 is not from the 50's, it was introduced in the early 60's, and it can be easily taken out by a rpg-7.

  • well it's better then nothing but most light anti tank weapons and IED's can handle a T-62

  • afghanis dont really need anything better to fight taliban. put a cage around the turret and the hull, and u got perfect low tech self propelled artilery to support the ground troops with direct fire. plus they are cheap to maintain.

  • to fight for nothing but a smokescreen can

  • @TheEnglishBadman what are you talking about thats the smoke screen counter-measure haha!

  • @ 1:20 secs , "TAKE THAT O ZONE"

  • @1982jeepcj8 what are you talking about thats the smoke screen counter-measure!

  • Afghanistan should really get itself a Rhodesian spirit, to bad they are not as disciplined as the the Rhodesians used to be and they even had worse equipment then ANA has nowadays. (Those heavy FAL's against the basicly plastic M16a2's and Colt C7's)

  • in these days i don't think that tanks have any benefits for the armies just 75 kilo gram of shaped charge TNT , then the strongest tank will be history.

I'm waiting for your comments about this point .

  • atleast its good for the environment 1:10

  • At least the T62 is a damn solid vehicle...there are much worse russian vehicles to use haha...

  • call that a tank? looks like a big ass car to me lol

  • T-62, good tank... Obselete. And these guys? Whoa. Look at the smoke at 1:17 These guys need to learn how to main tain these giants, or esle, they are doomed. -_-

  • @Tyco200 what are you talking about thats the smoke screen counter-measure haha!

  • These tanks are a joke when compared to the likes of the Challenger II, Abrams A2 and the Leopard II.

  • well these are 1962 made tank and Challenger II, Abrams A2 and the Leopard II. are from year 2000 and up made

  • Both the leopard and the abrahams designs date back to the 70,s and the clallenger at first was just an updated Chieftain.

The difference however is that these tanks got upgraded with superior armor ammo , optics and elecktronics

  • A pretty thoughtless comment. Great observation.

  • Советское наследие, а еще в строю)

  • служил на таком обалденная машина а тут все с увалеными двигелями

  • i think that leopard 2 tanks should be givin to afghan army.

  • @FarhadTurabi Yeah right, they need more weapon systems...

  • Wow they really need to upgrade these things if they have any chance against the Taliban. They need to give them upgrade like the Serbs, Ukranians and Romanians are doing on their old T-55s and T-62s.

  • @Anthrax92007

It doesn't matter what kind of tanks they have. Tanks are useless against insurgency, because they never come out in the open. LAVs are about as heavy as the need to be.

  • T-62s was used much in Checnya and Georgia and they were not bad

Georgian AT-4 was useless against them (tanks was eqipped by reactive armor)

  • Comment removed

  • @trigga1uk

i will tell you more - you can take out easily with rpg-7 every tank if you have some skills

  • @Scoutrussp7 No lol this int a video game

  • @Anthrax92007 Uh, Ukrain and Serbia have some hi-tech stuff. T-84 and the T-80 are from Ukrain, and Serbia made an upgraded T-90 called the M-2008. Shiney tanks! O3O Ukrain doesn't use t-55s anymore, instead, they gave em away, upgraded to T-80 standards. For more, wiki it up. T-55AGM (HAWT FUCKER) XD

  • tanks... lol

  • A reggeli indításnak lehettünk szemtanúi ... Ez már csak ilyen ... Viszont a tankok 125 mm-es ágyúval szereltek !!!!!!!!! Az komoly ...

  • 2- keep these tanks for open flat ground, but use my idea for the mountain zone. you will have two classes of tank in two very differant terrains! and you got more ground covered!!

  • because of the hills you need to design youre own smaller faster tank with good traction for hilly rocky surfaces. this proposed tank need not have metal treads. but manouverable wheels. reinforced rubber tires to ward off shrapnel and bullets.

  • If we want to reverse the effects of climate change, maybe we should update the tanks that the Afghans are using...lol They were blowing a lot of smoke!

  • двигло похоже не в лучшем состоянии, ещё поди и соляру ослиной мочой разбавляют...

  • ur funny.. really...

  • I just love these old rugged tanks.

    Looks so tough!

  • if you are facing enemy armor, then yes the T-62 is outdated.

but if you are providing infantry support then a T-54 is fine. Probably the only thing this T-62 lacks, if we are talking about fighting enemy infantry, is spaced armor which makes it virtually immune to HEAT (Rpg-7, AT-4) rounds.

there were some occasions in gulf war where during urban combat abrams tank hit the T-72s frontal spaced armor at some 50 yards with a HEAT shell and the T-72 tanks would just roll on.

  • Those things are outdated

  • They're better than nothing, the taliban don't even have tanks.

  • @crusader810 The Taliban have RPG-7's which easily destroy tanks ;)

  • @crusader810 They have tank tops...

  • @crusader810 on the other hand in the taliban ur promoted on your skills as a soldier and in the ANA u are promoted due to family connection thats more important than and equipment

  • @ImperialGuardofIran Actually It's the other way around.

  • no shit :)

  • I think that's why the states is going to win in Afghanistan because we rebuild army's and stuff unlike Russia that just bombed everything and just made a hard time for the people that lived there am guessing.

  • Omega3chimp, when the Russians were in Afghanistan, they actually did attempt to rebuild the nation. But the Afghans were unwilling to do shit, we're actually facing the same problems the Russians did. American troops are trying to train Afghan soldiers, but the Afghan soldiers are lazy and don't do anything or they just dessert.

  • Looks like they got the museum on the road :)) but every unit that fires back is a serious threat !

  • they are old tanks, used by the russians in ww2

  • no they were not the T-34 was.

  • lol look at that paper tank!

  • russian engine have a short and hard life

  • i think the cause of global warming is this tank... loolzz

  • i would nvr wanna be in a t62 cus the ammo is stored on the outside and if you get shot on it your done

  • How many of those tanks were built and or paid for by the US?

  • t62s are russian made and the us doent pay for any of them. the russians are supplying them

  • i know its russian made, but who is PAYING for it

  • NATO forces were paying for it..

Including Vietnam and North Korea in Asia.

  • OHHH.

that explains why they are crap.

  • Like how does that explain that theyre crap?. T-62s are old tanks.. those are 1960s.. Ofcourse today theyre crap.. You need atleast T-72.. to whack some terrorist groups. T-62s were superior to American tanks in 1960s.. But it didnt take too long.. As you can see.. Abrams ate Iraqi T-55s and T-62s.. Its like comparing a dog and a tiger.. These werent crap.. even [[[NATO]]] forces as i said.. including 3rd world countries line up for it..
  • I agree on that, but you dont need modern tanks to strike at terrorists. A tanks with good basics, not to much modern shit on it, might work even better. Especially if theyre in numbers.

  • hey man.. think of the situational threats these tanks will face.. ied's and RPG's.. most of the russian armour you mentioned wouldnt stand up any better than the t62's...

my point is simple.. even today.. if you stuck a 50 cal on a hewi.. and fly it around.. its still lethal to ground personel.. well.. a tank still fires and shakes the earth as it lumbers by :). in certain situations these things would still be as effective as they were in the 60's

.. one last word.. 1:15... EXHAUST lmfao.

  • As far as modern warfare is concern..

and USA is not included.. or China.. also Russia..

You need at least a T-62 as MBT..

any lesser than that.. is crap..

For 3rd worlds.. atleast you need something

like T-62.. to make your tank division strong.

    hundreds of them..

For 1st worlds.. Tanks with $2 million+ as price

    is needed..

  • T-62s.. accompanied with infantry carrying SAMs..

armed with 115mm or 120mm gun.. and Coaxial AA gun.. is pretty dangerous..

Considering that infantries carrying SAM launchers can eliminate Air threat..

    Include a complicated communication

    system inside a tank..

I think.. that if you arm a T-55

with a radar and computers like that of M1

It can be as effective as Abram in Offense

    but not in defense

  • even as you put it a 1st world country's soldiers are still vulnerable just the same to weapons which were more effective in say the 60's or 70's.. a shell from a t55 would still cause massive casualties to a humvee, or RG.. i dunno.. i was just stating how weapons that seem ancient still do a job haha evidence is as you said.. 3rd world countries using them as MBT...

  • Yeah.. Its the same..

Often times.. Ive read.. US casualties

are results of under estimation of enemies..

  • a modern US's M1A2 would put 10 of those into pieces before they even knew something was banging them.

  • umm i think it would be MORE than 10.. haha.. MY point was... lets sayy for instance.. you had ONE t62.. and turned it loose on infantry.. its still as effective as it was designed to be.. less modern anti tank weapons.. and NO do not imagine US soldiers vs a t62.. i was thinkin more like ethiopia or even mexico haha.. the point is.. old weapons that are obsolete are no less lethal... :) swords still cut/kill .. but a guns more efficient.. thats all im sayin :).. cheers

  • Israel captured T-55s and T-62s.

They tried to reverse engineer some

they found a potential on these tanks..

    even in mid 70s 80s and 90s..

T-55s. T-62s and Russian Tanks have bigger

guns.. more powerful engine.. better mobility

    maneuverability.. and firepower.

    However its beaten by.. US's

Computer Technology, Efficiency, Small but Accurate, Human Training Investment,

    Strategic Planning, and constant Training..

  • how much freakin smoke was coming out of that thing AND IT WAS PITCH BLACK

  • as you can see engine fires are normal!

  • Christ! somebody change the freakin oil, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think thats a smoke screen to conceal the tank like smoke grenade system but pumping oil on the exhaust system like the T54/55, but who knows that thing its the grandfather of the T80 mbt

  • Still, A GREAT TANK!!!!!!!! I just love the T62. A tankers tank!

  • I dont think Its better than the Russian T-90

  • kann der panzer auch schießen, oder nur gegner vergasen? ;)

  • Ich glaub nicht =D

  • That's so old most of the equipment on it are knocked off.

  • its nice tank, real mans tool

  • Those tanks are in terrible shape...left over from 89 and poorly maintained

  • @WASPfreak i dont think that's a problem for all soviet equipment... history prooves it...

  • can use the smoke for camoflge

  • wtf is that air pollution machine...

  • No, its a T-62. The fume extractor is located in the middle of the gun barrel.

  • Look at that diesel smoke! love that lol

  • ANA needs to get involved more

  • Russia did not invade Afghanistan. they went in the same way the Americans went to Vietnam.

  • They have a long way to go but they have seen how bad things can be and are trying to make things better. Easy to call them names and bad mouth them when you sit in your warm safe home protected by first class police and military forces. I admire the hell out of these guys.

  • Rag heads, give it a break. I lived and worked with these guys for a year. Each one of them left their families for $65 a month, no benefits. Many are afraid to return home because local war lords have put a bounty on their head. They want to make a difference, they are tired of war and they just want to have a peaceful country to live in.

  • Where do you get I didn't know about the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan? I did know about it, everybody freakin knows about it.

  • 1:10 where is the smoke, there is the tank! Easy to find them.

  • emission test??? this is normal

  • I think that tank needs an emission test lol

  • Looks like the ARENA defense system on 0:45

  • So is the ANA getting the Leopard 2 or the Leopard 1?

  • Canada is donating some old Leopard 1s to the ANA. Personally, I don't trust the bastards.

  • Not donation but sale to ANA, they were purschase in 1979 in Germany for a total of 114 Leopard 1A3 know as "leopard 1C1" in 1990 they receive the first Canadian modernization but nothing huge, in 2000s they receive new hull and modernization for Leopard 1A5 also know as "Leopard 1C2" or Cat Shoot C2. They're considered as the best Leopard 1.

In 2007 Canada had annonced CF quit afghanistan in 2011, and sold some equipement to Afghanistan such small arm (C7 also know as M16) and the LeopardC2

  • The Leopard 1C2 are definitely in better shape than the T-62,T-72,and i think (i'm not sure) few T-80. They're more modern and much more powerful, canada use this think with proud in over 28years services and will be in good hand for the last few years of life services.

  • Thanks for the info man. I'm glad we at least got something out of giving them our tanks and rifles..personally..I don't trust them.

  • True, the president of afghanistan is a former taliban and terrorist during the 1979 war in Afghanistan, imagine ANA soldiers or A'stan police.

  • Well..I didn't know that..call me racist..but I don't trust the whole race lol

  • In 2011 ,Afghanistan army will receive the Leopard C2 (1A5), in good shape and modernized in 2000s with color screen and TIS/Stabilizer L7A3 gun.

  • Comment removed

  • Canada quit Afghanistan in 2011, and like many country in ISAF we train the Afghan National Army and Afghan Police so i'm probably sure in 2011 before quit afghanistan, ANA will receive a training for drive the Leopard 1C2 with MEXAS armour.

  • Great tank! One of my favourites.

  • i noe nothing bout warfare or weapons, but can i ask if an AT4 is able to destroy a T-62? or does it jus weaken it?

  • Should blow right though the side.

This tank has 10.2 cm side armour. The M136 AT4's warhead can penetrates more than 14 inches (35.6 cm) of armor.

  • t-62 tanks beats al-Qaida and their Taliban puppets, pickup trucks anytime.

  • thsese t-62 are very very old they are from the soviet 1960 HEHE...!!

  • Did they check their smoke generators?

  • does anyone know what on earth these things burn to do that lol awesome sight tho

  • LOL black smoke thats bad for our envoirment :(

  • Shouldnt these be in a scrap yard or something?

  • what country sell this tanks to afghanistan

  • The tank is made in Russia. They are leftovers from the Soviet Afghan-War and Refurbrished by Ukraine and Bulgaria.Upgrades paid by USA

  • Russian loose it during the war of 1979, this still working today (only few) anyway canada sold his old Leopard 1 to afghanistan army in 2011.

  • guys cut it out :) u know wat tank technology is important but more important is the men inside and out side tank:) and u all 12 yrs old know how afghans are:) with 4000 we used to rape entire indian sub continent so shut the fuck up:)

  • If these tanks are for the afgans to use agaist the taliban then theirs nothing to laugh at the taliban has made a mess of afganistan so these tanks are all they can afford and armour is better than no armour these tanks can easy take on an M113 or a stryker so stop the childish remarks.

  • He's right and despite what it looks like these tanks are no joke. You can expect these dependable russian tanks to be in the field while our new high tech NATO allied tanks are in for high level and regular repairs. As far as I know the Teliban have no armour, it's going to suck to be them as from what I have heard from returning combat troops from aghanistan the ANA is no joke either.

  • I honestly don't think that the Taliban will have too much of a problem taking these tanks out--they're not stupid. A roadside bomb or well-placed RPG round could render these tanks (as well as all other tanks in the world) useless. Hence, the reason it is so invariably hard to fight guerilla factions--most technology is useless against them; it comes down to sheer tactical blow-for-blow.

  • this is a normal cold start of russian diesel tanks

  • polution much?

  • Lol i see what you mean 0.0 unless they were testing the smoke screen.

  • Crap fuel and a useless V12 diesel with 6 speed transmission,4 forward and 2 reverse! These things smoke all the time...the number after the T denotes the year it came into service.....cheap to build and easy to maintain, even an American mech could fix them!!!

  • yeah i agree, thats what the afghans have, but the country that made the tank Russia upgraded so many things to it, its actually can be used in a real war.(upgraded not for sale)

  • keep in mind that like all russian tanks the T-62 is able to spray diesel oil in the exaust manifault, this is done on purpose to give aditional smoke laying capabilities.

my guess is that these guys are usisng it in this vid

  • HOLY hah.. amazed they got them running!! but i guess if you figure ALL the tank graveyards around the country.. theres bound to be enough parts to put a few together.. but holy fuck.. those things were burning oil faster than fuel.. the blackness of the smoke lol

  • um thats normal considering its a diesel engine so the exsaust it going to be a liitle black.

  • The fuck you need modern tanks in A-stan.. that's like driving a 40-ton truck just to visit your parents..

  • 1:25 what a peice of footage, that thing is a beast

  • is the tank run on COAL or desel ??? may be poor mantenance

plz no offence as i m pashtoon too

  • canada should give them there old leopard c2 tanks lol

  • afghanistan is one of the badest army in the world and this are only old tanks but the t-90 is one of the best tanks in the world

  • make sense

  • Un saludo desde España.

Como ya sabreis el ejercito españos está tanbien en Afganistan.

    A greeting from Spain.

As you shall know the Spanish army is also in Afghanistan

  • God bless you...

  • holy fxck, look at the smoke!

  • russian tanks are the best of the world

even these tanks which were made in 1954 "T-54s" are still working

the old American Tanks all of them "M-48s" are out of service in all the world

  • We find bigger, better, more modern tanks to use.

  • its kinda lookin at a sherman and a king tiger abrams as the tiger and t72 as a sherman our tanks our stronger now

  • You all fucking guys or littel child have to know, that Afghanistan had most powerfull army in Asia and airforce

all that destroyed because of russia war by Mujahidin
