I love both these artists. Anytime, no matter what mood I'm in, DMB and Phish both pick me up. But I gotta say, next to each other, it becomes clear Trey is the superior musician. He can flow with any musical situation, while Dave becomes timid when out of his little box. I think he'd agree. He said himself that because he's a mediocre musician, he needs to surround himself with talented ones. His voice makes up for it, though.
@6Breezey I'm a huge DMB fan and completely agree. While I've seen the band 12 times, I hate the sixteen year olds behind me at shows singing as loud as they can. I don't want to hear you, I want to hear Dave.
@erikkanter lol that sucks i sing as loud as i can, altho i'm not a 16 year old kid, i was second row this year in the pit for a show and seek up came on and i jumped yelled and he was like.. buddy you need to calm down...... i was in the FUCKING SECOND ROW if you dont wanna be around loud people get the fuck out and let someone who wants it more in. what upsets me more is when the new comers only want BW songs and when seek up comes on they go to the bathroom, serisouly you & me isnt that good
@Dnt132 we were in Atlanta last year and there were some kids in front of us who didn't do a thing when Granny, Lie In Our Graves, or Don't Drink the Water came on, but went nuts for Two Step and Ants Marching, then said they wished he had played more hits...
personally, I thought it was musically the best concert I had ever been to. but ur right, newcomers want BW and frat guys and college kids (my age group) typically just want the classics that they listen to to be considered "cool".
@cmayville17 Meh, you can't get mad at people for being fans. It isn't exactly a competition :). I am a big fan of both of these guys and if people keep paying to support them and keep them playing music, then I am all for that.
Dave seemed a bit timid. I believe it was a "Dave Matthews and friends" show. Dave doesn't feel comfortable playing other great musicians music. I imagine it's hard being one of the "great" musicians yourself.
they took out the solo in waste! why would you ever do such a thing, they rocked the acoustic solo during their bonnaroo set. Still an awesome tune, but couldve been better
Love it, thanks!

Dave looks bashful with Trey. I like that Trey pushes Dave out of his comfort zone a little. Great post!

The fans you hear are DMB fans the fans that are trying to listen are the respectful Phish fans. DMB fans don't know when to be quiet.
