Jaw dropping. Amazing. I finally figured what it did during the show of Pat Metheny's Orchestrion. I can assure you it sounds divine, and nothing like this.
very tripppy, but ultimately a human had to program this song or at least program the robot to make the song, right? so where does the creativity really lie?
this can get really deep quick but wouldn't you say we as humans were created by something greater...and with that creation we were made in a certain way to behave, and yet people break the molds and go outside their boundaries all the time to be creative....lol....i'm just typing to watch myself type.
pretty cool, as a guitar player, i must say, robots will never replace humans with music.... you can make a robot play a song, but it cant put any feelings into it like humans can.... because, well, robots dont feel anything.
That's Crazy Awesome!!

Wow, my jaw is on the floor.
I take sound & interactive media classes at college, I've seen a few audio sculptures but this takes the cake.
I going to visit a LEMUR exhibition tomorrow, this is only the tip of the iceberg.

building robots that play music seems creative to me...

im not saying that its not creative, im saying the robot didnt create/write the muic. a creative human programmer did.

This is so cool! Much better than I expected. Reminds me a bit of a Mellotron in the mechanics.

Amazing! I've been puzzling over how to make a guitar - style robot for a while and this is a very elegant solution.
