lol im going to have to stop watching this my head goes mad thinking ur showing a touch screen then your showing how a ir sencer in a burgler alarm works then my head say (never mind the harm but if u used xrays in the frame would u get a immage in the screen of bone structure ? ill stick to 1x1= sintax error

OK, I think it's great. But I want to get away from the projector, and move towards a flat LCD method. Obviously less bulky. Is there any DIY work being done on that front?

How about a Flexible Thin Film solution. I like what's going on in the world of OLEDs.

I'm building my own LED arrays because those ribbons are waaaaaay expensive.

Couple questions. Did you only LED light 2 sides of the acrylic and if so, does it still bleed enough IR in the corner opposite the lighted sides? Second, it looks like you're getting good results, do you have more info on the IR filter used? (tuned or not?) Great Job and thanks for taking the time to share the vid!!!

We put the ribbon on 2 sides (L). There are so many LEDs, it totally floods the acrylic. We're not using an IR filter yet, but may for the projector. We removed the IR filter from an Xbox camera, and added a visible light filter (2 layers of exposed negative film, the black part). You can read more Q&A about the IR LED ribbon technique on the NUI Group (thread 2694), and learn more about the Sulky Solvy material in thread 1217, page 6. Would be nice if I could add a URL to this comment :)

Are you on NUIGroup? It would be great to post this on their if possible. Also, I'd love to know more about that "Sulky Solvy" material. Why you choose it, what type of material it is and why it seems to be working as a compliant surface (is it a sticky/adhering type material)?
