ty ty ty i adore the post & love learning after the kings speech as much as i can about the royals living in canada from 83-95 i enjoyed them but i relish the old stories
God bless him, you can see how painfully hard he's trying not to stammer. I've only just seen the movie "The King's Speech" this summer and am an American. But this story touched me, not just because it had great cast, and was well written. But the fact that it was real, and how hard he was pushed and bullied by his brother, and extremely strict upbringing. Feel really sorry for him, but what an amazingly brave and deterred man he was. Wish I could have met him, but will meet him in haven.
I don't see why they should fear socialism as while there are happy people they would support the royalty living in luxury, but if the people are treated badly they would have resentment about them.
he fought not only Hitler but also his stammer. Thanks to Geoffrey Rush, i mean... Lionel Logue! Watch The King's Speech (with Colin Firth) - very inspiring. I'm not Brit but I look up to British monarchs.. save for Longshanks (who ordered the brutal torture of William Wallace), the Crazy George III, and Nazi King (as they call him) Edward VIII.
King George VI was a great war time constitutional monarch in that he encouraged and led the British people. Very importantly, King George VI was a spiritual leader who urged the British people to have faith in God, to pray for Divine Guidance and to work to defeat evil. He should be remembered as King George, the Good.

A fantastic tribute to a much unsung hero, a great monarch with incredible bravery who fought to overcome his personal trials and tribulations.
