@doogleandalix Well,I have a friend in Germany working for Mercedes Benz there ,workers have opposed the company's idea to move the plant to China- so they didn't.But they also have import tax on everythung to EU from asia close to 18% vs 2% in the US..I guess we should tax the hell out of those imports too, may be this will help.The funny thing is that Chinese workers don't pay taxes in the USA so it is only fair to tax the imports.
@2598129 Interesting that the co.gave a damn what the workers wanted - here , the plan is to union bust and everyone will make min wage. Unions have flaws (I'm a union member)but they helped created a middle class,fair labor laws ,etc. Without them ,mngmt would be even more hostile and unfair to workers. @2598129 That true -we have become a service industry of minimum wage jobs .It is very difficult to find any electronics made here .The only jobs that can't be outsourced are trade jobs such as carpentry , plumbing ,electrical - union jobs. The rest are either municipal/state/Fed govt, health care industry and low paying food service/retail jobs. Other than that ,just about everything else is outsourced . Unless things change,we're on the way to being a 3rd world nation.
I f we want to bring the jobs back from overseas, we have to be prepared to live & work like they do.
Which means a) more immigrants, and/or b) living in apartments that look like jail cells and eating the same thing 3 times a day, while working 12-16 hours.
Because thats what we're competing with.

@doogleandalix Well,I have a friend in Germany working for Mercedes Benz there ,workers have opposed the company's idea to move the plant to China- so they didn't.But they also have import tax on everythung to EU from asia close to 18% vs 2% in the US..I guess we should tax the hell out of those imports too, may be this will help.The funny thing is that Chinese workers don't pay taxes in the USA so it is only fair to tax the imports.

@2598129 Interesting that the co.gave a damn what the workers wanted - here , the plan is to union bust and everyone will make min wage. Unions have flaws (I'm a union member)but they helped created a middle class,fair labor laws ,etc. Without them ,mngmt would be even more hostile and unfair to workers. Taxing imports is a good idea-I always try to buy American and buy union made products but there are so few of them left:( I'm sure there are more innovative ideas out there .

@2598129 That true -we have become a service industry of minimum wage jobs .It is very difficult to find any electronics made here .The only jobs that can't be outsourced are trade jobs such as carpentry , plumbing ,electrical - union jobs. The rest are either municipal/state/Fed govt, health care industry and low paying food service/retail jobs. Other than that ,just about everything else is outsourced . Unless things change,we're on the way to being a 3rd world nation.

If war is what you want, vote for anyone but Ron Paul. No one on that stage will actually stop the war but Ron Paul, period. And if he says he will, like everyone who's been elected since the wars started, and then doesn't, like everyone since the wars have started, then we know we're screwed. I will not vote for another assclown. I'm voting for Ron Paul. And if he wins and then makes an assclown out of me, I'm gonna be pissed. I hope to help my fellow American's take this country back.

Ron Paul was awful last night, and he got roundly booed several times. No way did Ron Paul win the debate. Not even close. You Ron Paul people are like cultists ... you don't even realize how terrible his performance was. it's ridiculous.

@theoremaxim I'm not part of anybody's constituency. I'll be voting against Obama, not for anybody in particular. And Ron Paul simply won't be on the ticket because his foreign policy is looney.
