For example: a couple years ago Stephen Colbert during a segment on his show once called a small town in Kansas a "pile of crap" or something like that. It was sarcasm and the audience in the show knew he wasn't being serious. Then newspapers interviewed the people in the small town asking then what they thought.
The people who were interviewed were mostly elderly and mostly white and they all reacted as if Colbert was condemning the town. They were saying he was being so idoitic and mean.
You see, after Colbert did that he then went to another small town and did the same thing like saying they were the worst place in America. The joke isn't what Colbert was saying. The joke was the stupid reactions from the people in these towns. They are too serious and insecure.

I'm sorry, we need to be able to joke about things like this. I grew up in a very diverse community with a clash of cultures and have friends of every race, religion, and preference. We all make fun of each other lol nobody get's sensitive about it and that has a lot to do with why things aren't so racially charged when we hang out.
