Any one looking for a way to win the necrons,firstly establish defenses and do never ever leave your base,secondly wait for all monliths to upgrade,then they will attack you (4 monoliths) bring any long range or what ever weapon effective against buildings,i used melta predators as space marines,and i won!

simply cause their forces at the monolith are sheer..once you destroy the monoliths attacking you then you win them..

@redwire2155 I actually use a similar tactic, and the only one I've found to work with the Imperial Guard almost every time against these monsters: Entrench yourself, then produce a Baneblade as fast as you can. Take that with 2 Leman Russ tanks and maybe a squad of guardsmen if you want, then send the convoy to destroy the Monoliths, they'll be too busy attacking your HQ to mount a proper defense and fall one by one.

About the whole speaking Necron thing. I'm sure I read somewhere that the Necrons can talk but never talk to other races and none of the other races have heard a Necron speak. It explains why in Soulstorm the Necron Lord only speaks to his army in this scene and never speaks to any of the other Commanders

No the Necrons were once people with a lifespan of 20 years. They lived in war and poverty while they watched the Eldar live in peace and rule the galaxy. The c'tan promised them immortality if they gave up their bodies for new ones. What they didn't know was that it also dulled their minds making them slaves. I got this from the Necron Codex.

The old ones, not the eldar, the old ones made the eldar to fight the c'tan, just like they made humans and korks (later orks) too fight the necron and their c'tan master. They where even made with a connection too the warp, and that war and all that death twisted the warp too the chaos place we know now. Eldar are just the most "wisest" and most retaining about their history and know this.
