  • love the video man

  • Are the seeds in the first part of the video against a glass frame so that you can see the roots and the leaves growing? It looks like it, but just making sure.

  • Mr. mindlapse could i re-upload this with Arabic title for educational purposes ?

i will put the link for the original video

waiting for you response, i only upload it if i take the yes from you

    thank you,

  • @OldDreamFading Hi, you are welcome to use my video for educational purposes. Enjoy, Mindlapse

  • @mindlapse thank you sir

  • fucking plants, how do they work?

  • in my head, i was having a race with them.. and i was hoping seedling number four would win by sprouting first.. but it didnt. :(

  • Hi I currently studying a teaching degree at uni, and I would like to use your video with voice over in one of my assignments... would this be ok. Thank you

  • I have used your clip in a film that i've made, (which I have credited you for in the description below the video) I just wanted to make sure that I had your permission for this.

If you ever want to check out the film I made you'll find it on my profile under 'Sequence'

  • theyre beautiful :o !

  • What seeds are these?Popcorn dryed or fresh?

  • Your reaction?

Did you all see TickleMe Plant Flower video by the same guy who made this one? Its really cool too. Growing TickleMe Plants from a kit I got online. The only plant that will close its finger like leaves and lower its arm like branches when tickled.

  • very corny vid...

  • what is the white thing that grows around the seed at 0:10 - 0:15?

    (not the roots lol)

  • @tato312 Those are also roots. They're called root hairs.

  • @wrenasdown

    Micorhiza, a symbiotic fungus.

  • Minute 2:24 to 2:26 see how earth goes down

  • Very very cool video! I would love to grow corn but probably don't have enough room for any more than a few plants.

  • whats the medium? looks like a pro mix, or similar.

  • That's only ten days??? What kind of corn are you growing?

  • It goes really awesome with the song

  • The "mold" you see is micorhizal fungi. It's a symbiotic relationship between the fungus and the plant. The fungus allows for increased surface area for absorption of water :)

  • OH MY GOD THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE GREATEST THING ON YOUTUBE

  • Can someone help me out I want to grow corn but I'm not sure what the seed is or where It is on the cob, are they inside or are they the ones you eat like the yellow part thanx

  • @mcainislame its the yellow part but dont cook it or else youll kill the seed

  • @darthanakin3334 thanks

  • Your title is like a one night stand... Roots and leaves.

  • This is cornography.

  • This makes me want to grow some corn.

  • hum i am wearing red undies lol don't ask meh why i am telling you this

  • @BabyiGemaaa342 why are you telling this ;)

  • @BabyiGemaaa342 Cus your a slut

  • @BabyiGemaaa342 why are you telling us this :3

  • You must play guitar really slow for it to sound like that on time lapse....

  • non hybrid corn, easy way to make $30 a stock. making weapons from them

  • This.. is.. awesome!! I subscribed, hope you make more!!

  • Is that glass or plastic between the seeds and the camera holding them to the dirt?

  • it's magic :)

  • i love corn, who doesnt..... love the vid!!! GROW CORN!!!

  • how much did you pay for the camera?

  • So thats how life works, looks easy but its hard as fuck ;)

  • You planted 5 seeds.4 of them grew above the soil yet at the end I only see 3.....

  • gentlemen behold...corn

  • This is Friken Amazing!!!

  • YES!

  • I love corn

  • wow life isnt that boring as i thot....u,sir changed my mind

  • @enjoiyourenjoideck Thers so much to life you wouldn't beleive it. Ipods and shit have lead people to think otherwise.

  • Whoa! The soil really goes into the plant! The soil depressed a few millimeters in.

  • Soil does not go into plants.

  • @renakilgore so uh... where does all the material come from? *Eyes you* The roots literally "gets minerals" from METATRON! This powers the plant, bending space, matter, and time!!!!

  • The plants get barely anything from the soil only a few minerals most of the plant mass is chemicals made from water and CO2.

  • @whirly22 I see thanks, renakigore & whirly22

  • @ManofArts well its not the soil that goes in to the plant its the nutriants in the soil that goes in the plants bealave it or not you dont need soil to grow potatoes yes patatoes do normaly grow under ground but thay have grown potatoes without soil just using watter that has the nesessery nutiants in it all the nesesery nutriants are saluble in watter so it is posible for the plant to take in the nutriants.

  • cool vid...trippy lol

  • korn

  • my favorite video of yours is the TickleMe Plant time lapse get your own seeds at ticklemeplant com

  • how many photos it takes plz? nice :)

  • @Beeseekeer lots

  • The roots growing out look like a new stream of water flowing and branching out.

  • The weirdest thing happened to me... I planted a radish seed in a tiny pot and less than 10 hours it sprouted!! It was crazy.

  • what is this song, its so flawless

  • lol i got one corn sprout in 2 days! with 24 hour lighting in a zip lock bag with a paper towel

  • am i a hick if i watch this lol J/K, this is pretty cool

  • lol kewl how it grows but lol the music

  • one sadly did not survive i amend u fiar seed T.T

  • It's cool to actually see the fertilizer being converted into cellulose plant material. You can visibly see the soil level shrinking a bit as the plants get bigger.

  • i love corn...huhuhuhuhu

  • Hi mindlapse, nice vid and well done. What sort of container do you use to grow them in? is it just a regular glas or??

  • Well done, we both like time lapse. Please comment on mine.

  • wow great video!

  • Nothin's more fun than watchin' corn grow!

  • except watching grass grow xD

  • This is freaking me out!

Hell, i'm never eat this shit again.

  • I wonder how plants know which way to grow? :o

  • Gravity and the sun.

  • I don't really get how the gravity has anything to do with it. Plants are fairly smart! :o

  • Gravity pulls the roots down and the sun pulls the leaves up. Its more complicated but that's it in a nutshell.

  • I know it's more complicated. But plants grow up twards the sun that far into the ground. I just think it's neat that they know which way to go.

  • It's not that they consciously know which way to go, they have just evolved that way. Their leaves want sun so they reach for it. The root wants to dig and gravity makes that easy. Its just how it is and I friggin love it.

  • Yeah it's interesting. ^_^

  • iskadono, you aint got one clue what the hell yer talkin about. Let it go.

  • And you have no clue what I was talking about, so keep your comments to yourself, you adolesant moron.

  • once again, ya aint got one clue, like I said let it go...let it go. Big dummy.

  • Stop trying to start a fight. Lawl. All I was doing was asking a simple question, and it turned into a conversation. This was a while back, so I indeed have let it go. Dummy.

  • Ah, a Homophobe, go figure. Ignorance is big within you. I'm sorry that you don't understand anything and you're looking for a petty fight over the internet, but unless you have a valid point to prove, don't bother talking again.

  • And I still only have one thing to say: You're ignorant, and don't know what you're talking about. :D

  • Look Gary, you havent the first idea, and unlike you my life is not devoted to corn. So in reality you fail at life if this the highlight of your day wathcing corn grow. Honestly get a girlfriend or something Lamewad.

  • Did you know your body grows top-down (cephalocaudal)? How does it know to do that?

  • wow great video!

  • mold growing on corn? try mycorrhizal fungus. didn't bother it? its a symbiotic relationship.

  • im not growin no corn man

  • G'day everyone

I'm starting an e-mail newsletter, which I'm going to use to help teach people about vegetable gardening, tips and hints, pest managment and growing different types of vegetables/herbs etc. If interested, e-mail me at theveggiedude@ h o t m a i l . c o m, and let me know

Hope to hear from you soon

    Cheers

    Veggie Dude

  • AMAZING!

  • Is it a banjo-tree?

  • lol

  • wow! fantastic!

  • yiiiiiiiiiiiihaaa

  • Ok i wasnt expecting to watch this but i did anyway!

  • Thanks, I'm actually doing my science fair project on this.

  • What type of light did you use?

  • Hi, two 90 watt equivalent (daylight balance) compact florescent lights in clamp on bowl type reflectors from Home Depot were used at about a 45 degree angle from the front of the glass. They were placed about 9 inches from the ends of the glass.

    Hope this helps, ML

  • Hi Bamboorules, the video spans 10 days. A lot of plants do not like 24 hours of light but the corn seemed to love it. I was able to use continuous light and this made the corn grow very fast.

    Later, ML

  • very well done vid!

  • Did you use the light until it grew cobs? Cause I heard corn won't grow friuts if the light is on 24 hours.

  • how long did it take to grow that big it had to been about 3 to 4 weeks?

  • Woah lol

  • I absolutely love your clip, it would be perfect to use in my grade 3 classroom. I'm teaching the kids about plants :)

I want to use it in a powerpoint presentation with the kids, I would appreciate a version of the clip that would be compatible with powerpoint... maybe wmv, avi or mov?

  • Hi Allison, when I get the time I plan to re-compile the video in .wmv format but it might be a while before I get to it.

If you can play a .mov clip in Powerpoint then the current .mp4 version I have on my site may work as is.

I will try to send you a private message with the link.

    Later, ML

  • The 'mold' around the roots could be bacteria. Bacteria grows around the roots of many legumes as well as other plants - the roots provide the bacteria with glucose, and in turn the bacteria fixates nitrogen (the prime macronutrient needed for plant life) from the air for the plant. It's a mutual relationship in which both parties benefit. :-)

  • Is that really mold growing around the seed or very fine rootlets to absorb moisture and nutrients?

  • Hi, I think it was mold but it might have been fine roots. The way it grew, away from the tap root makes me think it was mold.

    Take care, ML

  • how do plant's know which way to grow what i mean is why do they grow upwards.

  • Hi, good question! Don't know if it's the heat from above or something else. I have had seeds that had started to sprout then get moved become lost and grow the wrong way.

  • probably gravity?

  • ha nice

  • wow great video! i grow corn myself and now i know how it looks like to see them do their stuff :)

  • that was so cool! thanks! great choice of music with it, too.

  • this is awesome
