4,282 views

  • - This is typical Bulgarian - not Serbian. If it is so called Serbian, it is because this region is former Bulgarian land. And don´t forget that there are Bulgarian minorities in Serbia.

    Very nice performance.

  • This is a Serbian traditional song, sung with dancing, from Kraishte Region (Krajište, Kрајиште) - southeast part of Serbia. Audio recorded by Center for studying folk dances at Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade.

  • This is a Serbian song, but not from Kosovo, but from Bosilegrad Region, it is on the Serbian-Bulgarian border, there is also a version of the song in Bulgaria, it is not important whose this song is, since it s very beautiful...

  • This is old Serbian song from Kosovo.

  • This is a Serbian song sung in old Serbian language (nicely sung too). That is why we call even the Macedonians as once who were Serbs. I would not be surprised if the Bulgar slavs were Serbs originally who got mixed with the Bulgar tribe.

  • When the Bulgarian people came here since 13 century ago, where were the serbian?

This song is Bulgarian, as my grand grand mother, who is from Bosilegrad. Bosilegrad is traditionaly bulgarian region, and you stolen from us in 1920 .

  • @sposata2000 Serbs were all over the place. No one stole anything from you. Maybe you should check you DNA first. Maybe it developed from a mix of Slavic/Thracian/Dacian/Illyrian cultures which were already present in the Balkans from the neolithic peoples.

If Bulgurs were a Turkic tribe then with which slavic tribe did they mix with? Don't forget one very important aspect - that Slavs in proximity were ruled by their Bulgur leaders who themselves eventually took on the slavic language.

  • @sneighwena First of all Slavs are not a genetically homogeneous group of peoples, but rather a linguistic group of peoples. Modern bulgarians are slavs but not genetically identical to other slavs like russians, serbs, poliaks etc.Second Slavs were not present on the Balkans until the 5th/6th century which is about the same time that bulgars arived and even later than them.Bulgars were not a turkic tribe, but aryans that for a few decades the where under the rule of the turkic kagan.

  • @DimitarDobrinov Slavic language may not have been present or it may have been. We don't really know much about the neolithic peoples. If Slavs were not in the areas then the people evenntually adopted the slavic language. If Slavs were already there then they were in their own villages living amonst the Celts, Illyrians..etc.

  • @DimitarDobrinov

  • Interesting interpretation!

I love this song. It is from a region in Serbia- now the whole Balkans is very mixed so I am sure this song too, but it is from Serbia as it stands now.

  • This is a song from the Bulgarian lands Serbia occupied in 1918. It is NOT a Serbian song. It is 100% a Bulgarian song.

  • Wow!

  • Thanks a lot to you, Brsadin and Alex! It`s very important and interesting for us to know all this! We are happy that you gave us this information! And of course we have a lot of things to ask you about Serbian and Bulgarian folklore!

  • You're wlcome! You are free and welcome to ask whatever you need or you are intersted in. There are a lot of fights and quarrels between Serbs and Bulgarians about folklore and music in sought-east Serbia. Nobody says there are no Bulgarian tradition in Serbia, but nobody can deny serbian mayority in Sought Serbia, as well. I wonder, if this is only a bulgarian song, why nobody in Bulgaria sings it? I've never heard it!

Bestwishes to you and Alex, as well!

  • And when I mentioned fights, I meant about fights on-lilne, not for real in everyday life!

  • i never knew that in bulgarian they said the word - govori? very interesting

  • Of course. Very interesting. As we know Bulgarians should say: ''I na gugutka dumashe'', not ''I na gugutka govori'', right? I wonder, have Bulgarians ever heard about Torlakian dialct? Probably not. That's why they think everything that sounds bulgarian should be bulgarian.

  • az(ja) govorja, ti - govorish, toj,tja (on,ona)- govori, .... ovo je knizeven bugarski. Balkanska muzika je edna i ne priznae granici. Pozdrav.

Hvala. Srecna Nova Godina.

    Pozdrav!

  • Dear friend! We learned this song from the CD of Belo Platno, and they say that this song is from Krajiste region, Southeastern Serbia, near the border with Bulgaria. If you have more information about this, please, write it here. Are you bulgarian? Maybe you can help us to know this music better!

  • There is something about this song, or this region of Bosilegrad Krajiste better to say. This region belonged to Bulgaria in past history. But it is a part of Serbia for more than 80 years. This song is sung in mixture of bulgarian and serbian, just like the way Bosilegrad people talk. There are a lot of Serbs and a lot of Bulgarians living there. That's it.

And thanks for a great performance of this beautiful song!

  • Bravo brsadin-e :) Belorybitsa, this song as brsadin has said is from the Serbian region of Bosilegrad, this is correct. I am originally from the south of Serbia and my family there speaks the same way but I am not Bulgarian, I am Serbian so keep doing what you are doing so well and if you want to know anything please email me :)

  • Please do your research about the songs you perform!

    The performance is very nice

  • This a Bulgarian Song! It is sung in Bulgarian Language and it has nothing to do with the Serbian folklore!
