  • After all he has been through he has done bloody well!! My brother was inspired by his music and has his own little studio and is a big fan ,He has had similar problems with depression as have I so can relate in a big way to that. Glad mike has come through alot of his stressfull anxious times and can now relax and enjoy all he has achieved.

  • I have only heard Oldfield's voice on Five miles out. Im really suprised i had imagined his voice totally different. His voice is much more down to earth, I really like that.

  • I know its Mike Oldfield but he could pass for a plasterer. :)

  • mike sei un grande

  • strange to see this and realize he's human

  • This guy is awesome...people like Mike Oldfield and Vangelis that make the world a better place....just being himself and doing what was in his heart and mind and sharing that with us...thanks Mike..even though i know you will never read this..thanks mate for what you gave us and the world...

  • "I was channeling really well then" :-D

  • @NarcissistsDie I imagine you pulled this quote from him somewhere. And I firmly believe that someone in the spiritual world assisted him in the creation of his physical world beautiful music. Especially Ommadawn, some one on the other side inspired that for sure. Oh, ok, I hear this quote now on this video, just around the 3 minute mark.

  • sry for the question(im also) : Is mike oldfield jewish?

  • @y19HG No, he was raised Roman Catholic (his mother was Irish).

  • @y19HG I don't think so. He was born as a Catholic. He was raised in Roman Catholic family, since his mother was Irish. One of the songs in Light and Shade album was inspired by the death of the former Pope Juan Pablo II. Definitelly he is not jewish.

  • Look at 0:20 lol x

  • Oh gosh! I've just noticed! If you look near Mike Oldfields (his right) shoulder (our left) you'll see a few twigs or something sitting here which I think resembles the Tubular Bell logo!!! Lol!

  • 'ey you take it easy man!' what a great guy....a legend, genius all in one- totally love and respect this guys talent

  • Man this the man who has stolen my music obsessed mind! His music will never go out of stile!

  • top bloke, such a modest guy, thumbs up mike.

  • i think Matt Bellamy of Muse will exacly look in age like Mike Oldfield!! Would no wonder, cause both are one of the best musicians =))

  • Mike Oldfield has done some great work. Hope he does another all vocal album like 'Earth Moving' to really challenge himself, he can do the Instrumental works in his sleep (& Tres Lunas,Light Shade, etc not that good recently)! Really talented but needs to stop cashing in & living on past glory - Tubular Bells Remastered, Re-Recorded, Tubular Bells II + III, Millenium Bell, THE BELL-END, etc - give it a rest please!LET'S HOPE NEXT HE DOES ALL VOCAL ALBUM WITH GREAT KILLER SONGS MIKE CAN DO IT

  • could you tell me when this was ?

  • @RyanLies Listen to the interview and he tells you the date exactly.

  • Hes a freak , one of the last leaving Genius...

  • Isn't this the Bahamas?

  • One of the last Genius alive. Mike, we know, you never come to us with Jesus...

You are the hell out a Genius !! I love you !!!

  • Does someone know where this was shot?

Could it be in Granada, Andalusia?

  • brilliant musician... probably should avoid interviews though

  • what a caracter another great british institution !!

  • in some gestures he reminds me of rowan atkinson

  • If he remixes Hergest Ridge, I hope he puts the melodies back in, like were in the original vinyl mix. The mix that's out now on CD, I call the karaoke version of Hergest Ridge, because he's taken out several of the main melodies.

  • probably im not right, but during the whole intewiew he was acting a bit strange way.

Maybe his gestures are a bit more emphatical, for example he shows his long nails on his right hand a lot of time,i think every mike oldfield fun knows -including me:)-that is one of his caracteristics,i think the most individual.Maybe im a bit paranoid sorry;)

  • He is not Mike.

  • Are you joking???

  • Are you joking??

  • He is getting a bit older. But he still is a muscian (or how do you spell that word)

  • Mike Oldfield should challenge himself again & do an all vocal album (like 'Earth Moving'), the often second rate all Instrumental albums of late he can do in his sleep! That would be challenge for him & he is capable of making a great one. Constantly remastering & reissuing Tubular Bells is very tedious indeed, it brings in the money sure but bringing out even more versions is ripping off long term fans who wil buy them.Mike could have left Tubular Bells behind & concentrated on the new stuff.

  • @raswakeup

I do see your point, however, brilliant tho' Oldfield is as a musician, he is a truly fucking appalling lyricist. Words are just not his thing.

  • it would be an interesting interview, when i could understand whats mike saying, not just hear the shitty rain falling.... dumb

  • I discovered Mike when I was 11. I wish I could discover him everyday...

his music become my world and im pretty sure that if we do have souls, he's enriched mine with another dimension

  • I have to totally agree with you there, I couldn't put it better myself.

  • Im not homo , but i love you so much , kiss your feets.. Hes Genius

  • Give it a break with Tubular Bells. Tubular Bells I, II, III, The Millenium Bell, The Bell-End, remastered versions, anniversary versions, etc - seriously give it a rest! Mike Oldfield is talented musician & composer but like Jeff Wayne (with 'War of the Worlds') they just keep cashing in on past glory. Expect Tubular Bells 4 to come, or some anniversary tour performing the full album - enough already give it a rest.

  • I agree. But if you were in his shoes, and every three or four years somebody offered you ten shit-tonnes of money to do it, I think you probably would too.. :)

  • I agree! He has done so many great albums.

  • 5 miles out WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • absolute genius, pure talent

  • Man, man is looking great! He seems to have a bit of shine in his eyes.

  • rocky hair ;P

  • I have been a fan of M.O. since the 70's and I have also seen many interviews but I have never seen him looking so comfortable in an interview before.

  • best interview i've seen with Mike. Great to see Mike looking well - tanned, in good shape and grown his hair!

    peace x

  • Fantastic video post! Was this done for some website or something like that?

  • Booaahhhh ob die auf dem Motarad wußten, wer Ihnen da zugewunken hat :))) Mike sieht lustig aus mit den Haaren :))

  • Thank you for uploading (awful sound, though)

  • bahamas?

  • that's it. He left Mallorca

  • Great interview, never seen Mike so relaxed before while being interviewed!

  • think that's because he wrote his autobiography..,

think he left a lot of pain behind him. the sarcasm in his eyes is gone :-)

  • iam so intersested in mike oldfield. why does he have so much pain

  • subs in english would help

i am glad mike has good time there

  • hahaha funny interview!

  • Mike in versione pulcino bagnato è troppo forte... poi che farà nuove edizioni di Hergest Ridge e Ommadawn entro la fine di quest'anno è una bellissima notizia. W Mike!!

  • Wonderful. Thank you, Mike.

  • ¿Algún alma caritativa que lo subtitule en español, por favor?

Can someone subtitle in spanish, please?

  • Me apunto a la petición.... ¡no me entero de nada!
