Nah, he gets way too much topspin to be hitting an eastern forehand. Plus, his contact point is way out in front of his body, so it definetly isn't eastern. You can short swing with a western grip.
@Maverick1892 Something close to Eastern or Semi Western. He does not have an extreme grip. It's no surprise that he can generate topspin with that grip; Federer uses a similar grip and also generates considerable topspin.
@HBNplague He actually has something in-between a semi-western and a western depending on the shot, surprisingly. He uses an eastern backhand grip as well.

People with western grips don't swing like that. He uses an eastern grip with open wrist like federer.
