I didn't know there were people who thought it was strange to test an edge by shaving an arm. It seems to be a standard method on the knife boards. LOL

@TheIrishGuide Yes it will do the job. I am just particular about going in steps...kind of an OCD kind of thing lol. There are a lot of good sharpeners out there. Fallkniven is one of them.

I always test the edge on my arm too. I've done it that way for years & years. To date I have no scars from the process.

Great job John. I test them for sharpness the same way. It's been perfectly reliable for the last 25 years and I've never cut myself doing it. Thanks for commenting on that in particular.

You should also try a file they work too, and they're pretty portable, but they usually leave a coarser edge.
