  • This production is close to perfection..... Singers, set, costumes, orchestra, conductor......... It has it all

  • i love this version thank you sooooooo much i want to own this lol

  • For the first time in my life I was happy I learn italian at school o__ô

  • 3:37 se a caso madama

  • I saw this when it was being recorded, best night of my life.

  • This is magnificent! hummm... I'm starting to think he was better in his pre- Netrebko years. One can only wonder what went on there...

  • I literally watch this multiple times everyday.

  • @imhereandthenthere so do I.

  • Not as sweet as Prey and Freni's, but Miah's Susanna is quite good nothwithstanding.

  • Dilettanti.

  • I love miah's voice. I love this scene and the one where miah and the older woman are fighting. :)

  • 4:37 diin diin... DOOON DOOON :D great part

  • Which version is this??? I've never seen it before, and it's really amazing.

  • @lynarious013 I think it was performed at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden last summer.

  • I love this part! He is a very good actor too^^

  • @papagena92 Yes, How could anyone not love this performance!?

  • One of my absolute fave parts of this. 5 people don't appreciate their voices.....and the chemistry!!!!! as for the acting this is the best version I've seen, definitely. The staging and Miah Persson are great, too. Figaro is hot at least visually.

  • Certified Intergalactic! That means I watched this again for the nth time. Best in cinematography for this aria.

  • Yes,LilliVanessi, visually I dislike this version though the singing is superb. The Count is the sheer manifestation of evil and that "slap" was out of line and quite offensive. Miah Persson and Roschmann are ideal in their roles as usual.

  • Boy he's certainly buffed up since this production (not to say he looks bad here) and, regardless, he is beyond sexy and sounds wonderful. He and Miah Persson have great chemistry.

  • I have this DVD and I can't get enough of this duet. I love their flirtatious play as they sing. I agree, Erwin is so sexy that I need a cold shower after watching him. 2:56 His voice is sooo deep and sensual. mmmm delicious. I just can't get enough of him! I would love to perform with him, but know I'll never get the chance. I would love to play Susanna

  • I find this staging is beautiful and the acting is brilliant.

I have seen this many times, but this is completely fresh.

  • Erwin is sexy as hell!

  • Buenísimo!!!*****

  • he is a fantastic actor

  • I have seen this complete version.

However I see that the overture is missing.

I remember it was very wonderful.

Do you know how to I can see the overture of this version again???

    thank you

    Alex

  • do you know where can I watch the complete version?

  • As silly as the plot is, this staging is brilliant. The petting, the dramatic departures from dry recitative, the blocking all drive home the point early on how the Count's character motivates the drama.

  • I'm italian so i understand it :-P

  • I saw Erwin play Figaro live in LA and I must say it was beyond brilliant

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • I thought the version with Diana Damrau and Ildebrando d'Arcangelo in La Scala was good but this one tops it over and over... Brilliant staging!

  • Mitico Mozart, Lui e Verdi avevano capito tutto delle femmine!

  • I've seen this over four times in London and i still find it my absolute favourite staging EVER!

  • mozart almost composed this to encapsulate real love wich he new too well it did not egxist.

  • i have this DVD absolutely LOVED EVERY SECOND!!

    SINGING!!

    COSTUMES!!

    DIRECTION...

and...THEY CAN ACT!!!!!!! alleluia! aaaaahhhh soo good! :P

  • yes, katesinger, and with a " grammophone award " this performance

  • I can't find the DVD anywhere. Any idea where I could search for it?

  • beautifulll!!!!

  • Erwin is the most promising bass baritone!

  • what a beautiful voice 5:22 to 5:38

  • Comment removed

  • what the...

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • .

    che razza di marpione figaro

  • What I wouldn't do for a Figaro like Erwin.

  • Uffffffff, me too. He's the best.

  • Susanna pefetta!

  • Hai ragione, la adoro!!!! Ha cantato anche Fiordiligi in "Così fan tt" a Glynebourne nel 2006. Dai 1 okkiata ai video!

  • lo so, l'ho sentito. Seconde me lei e meravigliosa Fiordiligi. Che belle note basse!!!!

  • Già, anche secondo me. Sono molto uniche, anche se a volte un po' troppo "sbrodolate".

Ma quanto è bravo Figaro? Impressionante, 5.22-5.38 (!!!).

  • sentirlo come canta Leporello in "Don Giovanni".

Mi piace molto la sua interpretazione.

  • from 4.37 to 4.40 she is awful!

  • wow, that's some chemistry!

  • Ahhh, they are so good!! This opening scene is one of my favorite parts of Le Nozze di Figaro!

  • @macmanuslvf Opening scene, yes. This performance, NO.

  • I could listen to him sing 24h a day, for 24,000 years, and never tire of that voice.

  • @Verseau125 I know right. I was lucky enough to see him in this role in L.A., and when it was over my mom and I were like "NO DON"T STOP SINGING!!!" lol =)

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • If I don't get lazy, I'll try to put up the finales, and maybe..canzonetta sull'aria and the sextet.

  • Thanks, the sextet it's great; but Canzonetta sull'aria it's alredy posted with Dove sono XD

Could you post Figaro and Susanna last duo please? Thanks :)

  • Well, that was dumb of me. I would never watch dove sono, so I have to miss out on Canzonetta Sull'aria also? :(

I'll just do the finales then, and the sextet if you want. I do like seeing Roschmann getting slapped.

  • Thanks; well, you must see Dove sono (Roschmann esta mucho mejor q en Salzburgo) and I think it's also posted Susanna or via sortite (o ese le colgaste tu?)

  • Ahh someone else has uploaded clips from this dvd. The same guy did the cosi fan clips I didn't. Well good, now I can just do the act 2 and 4 finales.

  • Why do you like Röschmann getting slapped?? I just watched the clip and found that disgusting. Finlay is far too aggressive as Almaviva.

Thanks for the clips anyway, the voices are great.

  • I dislike roschmann, I feel the count is slapping her to shut up! Finlay is great in this!

  • As a matter of fact, I like Röschmann very much, but even if I didn't, I'd still find it disgusting that the Count slaps Rosina's face. Almaviva may be egoistical, self-righteous, patriarchal, but slapping his wife doesn't suit him and it's not in the text.

Well, but I'm still looking forward to the finale of act 4 - it's just sooo great. ;)

  • So I guess you've never seen the one with Fischer-Dieskau and Te Kanawa? And why is it okay for Sussana to beat the crap out of figaro twice! Maybe it's not in the text, but you should allow some interpretation.

I'll try to put act 4 tomorrow, it takes me hours to upload 1 of these videos, so I need the energy :)

  • I have seen that version and I disliked it. Had forgotten about the slap, though. ;)

Let's not argue about this anymore, it's not worth it. ;)

  • Ok deal :)

That video has a stunning cast though! The conducting is a little slow, but is Bohm, you shouldn't expect anything quick :) Te Kanawa and Fischer-Dieskau are the best! I love his Hai gia vinta la causa?
