@TheRipper108 although the murti that the gopis made were simple ones made in yamuna banks . such murtis are not preserved once the rituals get over . somwhat similar to the cow dung shapes that women of vraja make in govardhana puja ............ or the clay shiva lingams made for worship in shivaratri , by those undertaking a vow .

@TheRipper108 somewhat similar . historically , symbols and dieties were made in clay for worship , all over the subcontinent . somehow the art flourished in bengal more than anywhere else .
