The remixes sound clearer, crisper. I recall the band saying they wanted to strip down the reverb, and many of the layered guitars. Just get it down to the core of the songs. So, the remixes do sound more to-the-point. You can even tend to hear more little details now that were not noticeable before. The originals will always be classic, but I like this new version. It takes time to retrain your ears and mind to adjust to the songs this way, but once you settle into it, it does sound good.
the whole echo/murky/reverb mood of the original recordings are lost when theyre cleaned up, the fact tha tit wasnt perfectly clear is what makes it so incredible sounding
Original sounds warmer. Redux is more aggressive because of the louder guitars, but it sounds like shit. The voice is too low, the guitars are too loud, they don't sound "together" at all
yeah, I couldn't agree more with you. I'm sick about those comments claiming the awful remix is better; actually, it sounds like anything you'd listen on the alt radio these days. The Rick Parashar/Tim Palmer mix rules.
the first one is low quality (both of them are yet that's what you get when you upload on youtube) . I have the original and it sounds clearer yet different than the redux. The stereo/ what ear the sound is it is somewhat different and so is eddie's voice. The Yeah yeah yeah in the bridge is louder and not in the background.
I don't think the difference is huge. There are some slight ones but I would say that the people who think it's an abomination and completely different are trying too hard
the new version has a much more, cleaner, slicker radio friendly sound. if it were made today for example. personally, I like the "grunginess" of the original album myself. i hear too much "perfect" music on the radio today and it annoys me. the rougher original makes the album more real to me.
Lol! I'm sorry that this is not a video of a monkey farting. It's the more important videos like that which have 9 million views. I hope this video doesn't crash YouTube's server. ;)
I'm going to have to disagee with you guys. The redux sounds like a garage version. Too raw, too disjointed. The first take was much more cohesive. Eddie's vocals are much more prominent in the new version, but the overall feel has been lost. I love PJ, but overall the sound of their albums has never been as good as the first record.
I don't see how people cannot tell the diff. They must have bad hearing. The redux is more in your face rock. Everything in the mix stands out more. Also some of the lyrics and quieter passes are noticeable now.

Original sounds warmer, remix sounds more powerful. Not sure which I like better. Thanks for doing this.

i don't like the redux. The vocals are to up front. the guitars are too loud and it doesn't seemed balanced. Don't fuck with a masterpiece.

wow, it's totally re-mixed..more guitar, less reverb..cool to hear, but they killed that signature snare sound.

People who can't tell the difference in these songs are the same ones who can't tell the difference between standard and HD Tv. Hopeless.

Really??? You're the first person I've heard say that. The production is awesome on the redux - the exact opposite of garage, imo. To each their own.

i was astounded as i heard the ten redux first time with my akg k240 - WOW!
sounds wider and much clearer, some instruments and eddies voice with more reverb and some notes are there who were missed on the orig.
THIS ALBUM IS ROCK HISTORY!!!!

How could people not tell the difference? The Redux version is way Heavier than the original version and the quality is way better.
